Great hair cut!
I got a hair cut for under 30 bucks with tip (unfortunately no student rate). I was getting tired of my long knotty hair so decided to cut it short. Margarita cut my hair and she did an awesome job...
I got a hair cut for under 30 bucks with tip (unfortunately no student rate). I was getting tired of my long knotty hair so decided to cut it short. Margarita cut my hair and she did an awesome job giving it a little body (it has none). The ladies who work there are fun to talk to. Check it out!

Despite what other reviewers said, I never felt like any of the staff were snobby. And I don't go there b/c I'm "too cool for school" Everyone seems friendly enough.

The coffee is really good (albeit a bit pricey- $1.75 for a medium) and the cookies are addictive. I love the dark cozy atmosphere of the place and there is plenty of natural light from the skylights. The music is a bit loud at times but I find it helps drone out convo from other tables and keeps me focused on my readings for school.
My one big complaint... horribly hours. Pretty much open only in the mornings and afternoons. But if you want a place to hang out b/t classes, its worth waiting in line for some coffee!

Ok I love ethnic foods and both my husband and I were excited to try Afghan food for the first time. Let me start by saying the ambiance of the place was so nice. It is a very cozy and romantic place to have dinner. But the food... first off all the food we ordered was saturated with this garlic yogurt sauce. The sauce is good but not good enough to warrant so much of it. And my eggplant from my main entrée was so soggy it was almost liquid. Kinda gross. All in all the food isn't bad... maybe 3 stars... but as you have to take into account the price- for 15-20 bucks an entrée it should be a whole lot better!

Both the burger and the fries were overdone. The burger was over charred and the fries were too crisp. The coleslaw was good. My husband said his sausage was good but not big enough to warrant the name "junk yard" Its probably a good place for a couple beers with friends but I don't think the food is worth a stop.

Wow! Worth every penny
We went to Ray's Cafe and wow. The rolls taste homemade, the hummus is seriously the best I've ever had (with a nice lemon splash), the salads are large and hearty, and the desserts are warm, sweet...

The rolls taste homemade, the hummus is seriously the best I've ever had (with a nice lemon splash), the salads are large and hearty, and the desserts are warm, sweet and comforting. But the fish entrées are really the stars... they were so fresh and were flavored perfectly. I got the blackened rockfish and it had just the right amount of spice so not to overpower the taste of the fish but still add a nice kick. The service was great, despite how crowded the place was (make sure to make reservations). Originally we had planned to eat outside, but the hostess suggested we sit inside to avoid the cold wind from the water. We took the advice and were satisfied with the warm ambiance of the interior (filled with lighthouse pictures and a fireplace). All in all, a great place to take an out-of-town guest you want to impress!

Fresh delicious Mexican!

The server was horrible. Trying to charge us for every little thing. Definitely bad service. You can tell she just did not care. I'm hoping its just a flux and service can be good? Yet to be seen...
Unfortunately they can get away bad service because the food is soooooooooooo good. Very fresh and light but extremely tasty. We got the famous spicy catfish tacos and devoured it. The ceviche is delicious as well! (Note they charge you extra for the chips to eat it with!)
Anyway we will be back, probably many times. Probably not a good idea to go on the weekends because of crowds and be wary of the cost. But the ambiance and food makes up for all that!!!
I will have to rent a kayak soon. :)

They have lots of different styles to choose from (from barbecue to teriyaki to tex-mex) and all come with really good potatey fries. A great place to just hang out with friends and be casual. For a meal under 10 bucks you can't complain.

Ok my husband and I arrived there close to 9 on a Tuesday night. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. THATS how crowded this place is. But we didn't care. We love Indian food and were excited...
Ok my husband and I arrived there close to 9 on a Tuesday night. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. THATS how crowded this place is. But we didn't care. We love Indian food and were excited to try something new. Plus they gave us ice water while we waited which was a nice gesture. There were tons of people there (as I said) but the atmosphere was nice enough. And the food was excellent. My only complaint was the samosas were a little greasy but not horribly so and they didn't have tomato chutney (but they did have the mint and tamarind- yum!). The nan bread was really good- tasted really fresh. We got the entrées level 4 spicy (out of 5) and they were the perfect level of punch. Really not unreasonably priced for ethnic food. All in all we will be returning. I'd just recommend hitting an off time though to avoid the crowds.
