Last night I attended a friend's bachelorette party and we started out at Chopstix. For a future party I would probably go out to a nicer dinner first and then go to Chopstix for the fun part of dueling pianos and lots of raucous singing with the crowd.
Most of the gals at the table got some kind of grilled chicken or prawns and the food was okay. I'd put it on par with an Applebee's - and if that is your idea of high dining experience then you'll be happy. If you have a higher standard for food then you'll find it okay but not great.
I ordered the grilled chicken with rice pilaf and skewered vegetables. It was a bit surprising to see the chicken drenched in some kind of sweet and sour sauce that I couldn't recall was on the menu description. Given that I was hungry and I knew we'd be there a while and having adult beverages I still ate most of my meal but only to fend off any alcohol later in the night. That's probably the best way to describe it - food that's good for staving off alcohol.

I'm a big fan of catching shows (I assume the question was for music and not plays) at the Showbox. There is enough space to not feel too crushed by crowds if you don't want to, and I don't, but it's a smaller venue than a big arena so it's hard to not get a good view of the show.
The other good thing is that there are 2 large bars so it's easier to get drinks before and during the show. Most people adhere to good behavior too so there isn't a lot of cutting or shoving around while waiting to buy a beverage.
On the downside I wish they had more bathroom space - it would be great if they could put bathrooms on both sides of the building so there wasn't as much traffic milling about during the shows. The other bathroom issue is that it doesn't seem to be monitored during the shows very much and it can get pretty filthy very quickly if the people attending the show aren't very good about picking up after themselves - a bad human habit that is a little too common at our local bars and show venues.

I agree with Jill about the Aveda products. I use the "Be Curly" product and I also use the hair straightening product when I blow dry my hair straight and it looks great. My hairstylist recently moved to a Bumble & Bumble product salon and I don't like their curly hair product nearly as well as the Aveda.

I love the Entertainment Book and one of the ways I am able to maximize the value of buying it is when I have guests in town. Many of the Seattle tourist attractions have coupons in this book and I can save a TON of money when my nieces and nephews come to town. Places that I don't normally go to eat get visited and I sometimes use it to find new places by flipping through areas that I might not normally go to.
The other thing I like about it is that since it is usually sold by organizations trying to raise money for a cause I like to buy it from them versus at the local Safeway. I'd rather see a volunteer organization benefit than a large corporate conglomerate - even though I shop there.
The other cool thing about this product is that it is made for several cities around the USA so you can buy one as gifts for loved ones that live elsewhere, or you can buy one before going on a vacation to a distant city and SAVE MONEY! That's aways cool in my book.

Another great option that gives you the opportunity to use a discount every time you visit a business or restaurant is Passport Unlimited. I just started giving these as gifts to real estate clients of mine and they are THRILLED with it! I've already received several thank you's from the clients I gave these to. Check it out at this website: http://passportunlimited.com/ They don't cover all of the USA but they do have several states and cities in their line up and they are adding new businesses every day.
One local place that shocked me was Canlis - you can get a FREE ENTREE at Canlis every time you eat there (2 people) and that's a top tier restaurant in Seattle. If you're a business person that is looking for a great way to thank clients you can buy cards in bulk and get discounts on the cost of the cards. I did the 25 unit purchase (got one for me too, so total of 26) and I get to have my company logo on the card, my name and phone number too so each and every time my client uses the card they are reminded of me giving it to them. A wonderful, wonderful item that gives value to the client and to my business - a win for everyone.

If you're looking to incorporate some dairy into your diet and want tasty low fat ways to do it this is a great option. Lots of lovely flavors too.

It would be helpful to know the level of other wine drinkers that you are expecting. While you may not be a wine afficionado if some of your guests are you'll have quite a range to try and keep happy. I have some friends from each side of the fence that wouldn't go near some of the recommendations here for their own various reasons.
If a person is well-seasoned in their education of wine then they'll expect a different kind of wine than what is sold in larger volume here in the USA.
The general wines of the USA are typically much sweeter and fruity than you'll find in wines made outside our borders because they are made to match the tastebuds of the general and largest consuming public. Think Franzia or Gallo here. The USA wines also tend to have higher alcohol concentrations as well with 12-14% being common.
To help make something work in the middle for everyone you might consider a Shiraz or Syrah (same grape but spelled and pronounced slightly different in various parts of the world). My friends from each side of the fence enjoy Yellow Tail brand wines (Chardonnay and Syrah). They are widely available now - being own by Constellation Brands - so you should hopefully be able to find them easily. They also have not just the usual 750 ml size bottles but they have the larger size bottles so you can get a really good value too. Prices are reasonable and a regular bottle shouldn't cost you more than $10.
As for pairing with your food - a chardonnay would likely go okay with the turkey as would the syrah - particularly if there is any kind of garlic stuffing involved. Rich flavors need richer flavored wines to stand up to the taste of the food. Many people go the opposite direction thinking they need the wine to be mild if the food is bold and that's not correct. What you can do with some foods such as Thai where there might be lots of spices is that you can go with a sweeter wine - like a reisling.
Anyhow, that's enough wine lore for now. Enjoy your holiday meal and guests!

My partner and I were introduced to Nuun after a friend started riding for a women't pro cycling team in Seattle. One of the sponsors was Nuun, a company we'd never heard of before. The product that they make is about the same size as an Alka-Seltzer and it makes the same fizzy noise in water but it's a hydration tablet that is better than all of the other highly sweetened hydration products like Gatorade.
For anyone looking to lose or maintain weight while getting good hydration AND have a good tasting beverage - this product HAS NO CALORIES! Unlike other drinks (besides plain water) you're not putting extra sugar or calories in. I love it and so does my partner which is funny since he also loves Gatorade and I hate it. There are multiple flavors too so you can find one you like or have an array of flavors to choose from.
The other thing I like is that since the product comes in a small plastic tube you can carry it with you pretty much anywhere without having to have a bulky plastic bottle that may or may not get recycled. To me that is pretty cool too. Reduce the waste of all those plastic bottles - even though Nuun comes in plastic it's a much smaller profile than a case of water bottles or other sports drinks.
