my family's home movies. I was really disappointed. I mean, the one where I have a mullet or the one where I am cross-dressing as a five year old are amazing movies but no, Scarecrow said that they haven't found out how to get them yet. But they will. I'm sure of it.
Until then I go there to get the 'easier to find' movies about cats who like to protest big business on Tuesdays and the documentaries about mothers against drunk boating. I still ask about the home movies though. The mullet one is to die for!

Rain City Video is fabulous. I frequent the smaller video stores because I don't like the crazy commercialism of the chains. Rain City has quirky and cool video peeps, they are flexible (there's a late grace period), and they have a great selection. Plus, don't tell anyone, but they also have an adult section, if you know what I mean. That's just cool. Now people don't have to go to Blue Video, they can be treated like humans. :) Oh and two for one on Wednesdays and Thursdays!

I'll say it. The store makes me a bit uncomfortable. Sure, I'd like to know how something fits on a person, but does that person have to be half-naked, sprawled all over a grungy couch in a dark basement and under 16? (who knows how old they really are)
I LOVE the clothes. I LOVE feeling good about supporting American labor. I just wish I didn't have to be bombarded with underage "photography."
I have a few concerns about company policies, but I like AA's underwear and pants and classic sense of style...plus, the colors are great. It's worth the money because I know I'm not making people work in sweat shops or go hungry half the time.

Fashion doesn't have to make us broke. And the clothes aren't that exciting. If you want to go broke, at least look good doing it...(Les Amis). But my point is that your time is better spent at the copy place xeroxing your hand or counting Fremont Thai restaurants.

Sometimes window shopping is all you can do. And this place is great for that. They have tons of awesome clothes, but like others have said, it is WAY too expensive. I go and get ideas and make the clothes myself. If you want something stylish and fancy and can save the dough, I recommend coming here at least to see.

Seriously. It's lucky that this store is next to Urban Outfitters because the prices are similar so no one knows that it's overpriced. I admit that I am attracted to clothing displayed in the window and their catalog is intriguing, but I would be ashamed if I told my future kids that they couldn't go to college cause mommy wanted to look pretty for a couple of days.

It's weird what people get rid of and in what quantity. Bleachers from old gyms, 70s style avocado toilets with matching sinks, barber chairs, etc. I like to simply walk around. I don't always find stuff, but I know that my imagination runs wild when I'm at Restore. Non-profit, community education, and an environmental mission is enough to get my support. Windows, doors, and odd furniture are regular items.

I took a yoga class here a while back and I liked it. I should have gone to a beginner class (I chose an 'all levels' class) but the teacher was really good. The class was big so I recommend that you know a bit about yoga before you go so that you're not doing the poses wrong and then not getting any help.
SHC also has an amazing Aikido program. I have know a few people to study under Sensei Bookman (Bookman Sensei?) and they have great respect for him.
There is also bodywork at SHC by appointment. Pretty cool.

As a non-yoga person, I really liked the class I took here. I had a back injury years back and I have suffered in yoga every since. But not here! I took a gentle class that actually WAS gentle. The teacher paid attention and let me know other poses to do instead. There was a non-competitive feeling and I left feeling good about yoga again. The teachers at WLY are really good. They aren't trying to pack the class or move everyone at the same pace.
I hear the teacher training is also really great.
