I used to get my news from the CNN site as they are famous for their Breaking News alerts, yet over time as my husband really got into it I switched to Huffington Post and guess what, they are as quick as CNN on getting the news to you right away. Put together by Arianna Huffington, the site features fresh news and a slew of opinion pieces from the liberal minded. A turly great site! Give it a try at www.huffingtonpost.com!

This is a book like no other in my four year old daughter's library. In this book, there are no words, however it comes with a CD at the back of the book which is to be palyed while "reading" the book. In the gorgeous illustrations which have won the book New York Times Best Illustrated Books Awards, we see a bird's eye view of brightly colored umbrellas of the children walking toward their school throut the pages. On the CD, there a re brief periods of silence to let the reader know it is time to turn the page. It is a wonderful unique experience and an opportunity to really listen to music and match it with a story for yoru little one. A great book!

This is one of the sweetest bedtime stories we have in my four year old daughter's library. Little bunny Willa cannot sleep and asks her big brother Willoughby to tell her happy things so she can fall asleep. Big brother Willoughby takes her through a tour of wonderful things in their home and outside, until little Willa falls asleep. The tone of the book is very sweet and soothing, and the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. A great addition to a preschooler's library.

In The Power of Myth, we get to witness a profound conversation between Joseph Campbell, renowned professor of mythology, and journalist Bill Moyers as they take many contemporary events and place it in the context of mythology. It is based on a six part PBS special, which is also worth owning (or borrowing from the library) if you are interested in this topic. Here we go into the nature of myth, and its eternal topics such as the goddess, sacrifice, the hero, romantic lovem and the such. A great treasure.

"Creating a Charmed Life : Sensible, Spiritual Secrets Every Busy Woman Should Know" is the kind of book you want to read a couple pages at a time, perhaps in the evening after you have taken a warm bath, and soak yourself in lavender aromatherapy around you. Victoria Moran has a wonderful simple style that sneaks upon you and soothes and inspires you without ever noticing, and the next thing you know it, you have an added sense of well being and inspiration for new openings in your life. A definite recommendation for all those who want a little retreat in the midst of a busy life.

"Reflections on the Art of Living: A Joseph Campbell Companion" is the single most comprehensive book on Joseph Campbell's work that I have come across to date. In this book, author Diane K. Osbon takes us on a tour of select quotations written by Joseph Cambell which reflect the mind of the great mythology teacher of the twentieth century. The result is a gem of a collection that is a great map to finding "one's bliss" that Campbell was so successful at conveying to people throughout his life. Two thumbs up!

This is one of the gorgeously illustrated children's books that I have ever come across. It is so beautiful that on some nights I find myself secretly wishing that my daughter picks this book up for me to read it to her! The messages in the book are also wonderful - "I believe your special talents will light up the world"... "I believe life can give you the best you can imagine"... "I believe dreams help you discover yourself..." This is really a gem of a book and I am really happy I came across it!

Yes, Curious George is at it again. This time the playful monkey finds himself at the annual pancake fundraiser for the children's hospital. And of course, when no one is looking, in this case when the cook is away, he makes pancakes with blueberries that everybody loves which leads to the pancake line getting very, very long and... well, as usual he finds himself in trouble but at the end all is well again. One of the funnest Curious George stories!

A little monkey among a buch of chocolates is never an un-scaring scene. When Curious George visits a chocolate factory with the man with the yellow hat, he finds himself forst on top, and then at end of the chocolate machine and before you know it many of the chocolates go to his mouth instead of the boxes they are supposed to go to - yet at the end, he saves the day as a good little monkey would. Really fun to read - my four year old loves this book.
