After hitting Archie Mcphee, we visited this store to look for a perfect gift for 1 year old boy. They carry a lot of earthy simple toys, such as wooden pull toys, something you can't find in Toys 'R' us. There is train track table and toys for kids to play while you shop. Store staff was very friendly and helpful. She even told us there were free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's that day which made our day.

This cafe is located in residential area but there is always a line on Saturday/Sunday morning. It looks regular cafe but their coffee is great. I usually get Americano but whenever they have croissant, I have Latte. They goes very well together. Crispy on the edge, so soft and butterly inside. Yum. Before I moved to Shoreline, I go there and even get their coffee beans. Believe me, it's so good.

I found out about this website a while ago from a friend but never thought about using it just because it didn't look fancy. One day, it hit me to use it for selling my dog's crates. I once tried with other community type of website before and nobody responded to it. With craig's list, I got 2 response to it and sold it without packing or getting charged like ebay. I think it's very useful when you buy/sell big stuff. There are other listings other than buy/sell like, "personals", "jobs", "community", "housing", "gigs", "services" and "discussion forums"

When this chubby neighbor of mine recommended Costco's croissant 8 years ago, I didn't believe her. I just assumed the croissant must taste flat and dry only becuase they are huge(in my humble opinion, huge American food tastes flat most of the time)! I also didn't want to end up looking like her. But recently good friend of mine brought some for dinner, I realized I was wrong. If you toast them lightly, it gets crispy on the egde, so tender and butterly inside, so close to the real one in Paris even though it's double in the size. $4.99 for a dozen.

When you see their chicken wet burrito, you'd think "you must be kidding!" Yes, it's HUGE. not only that, it's tasty and healthy. What else would you want for Mexican food? It's a family owned Mexican joint and there is the lines foamed out on the sidewalk around supper time almost every evening. If I was only visiting from Tokyo, I need two other girls to finish one dish here. Seriously.

When you don't know what you want to eat, this is the place to go. Good fusion of cuisine to choose from and great appetizers. One time 4 of us ordered each appetizers and share them as dinner and it was surprisingly very satisfying. My favorite entry is risotto and grilled half roman lettuce caeser salad. The bar is nothing special but the have 40 microbrews and unique aperitif (burning hot vocka... forgot what it was) and cocktails.

We go to this homey french restaurant on our anniversary every year. I believe this place used to be a house and they remodeled it to a small cute restaurant. The waitperson is so professional and friendly that she will make you feel at home even when you don't understand some of the vocabrary in the menu. Basically you pick your entry and appetizer which is from about $30, then you'll get warm vegitables with entry and cold salad after meal. Bread is great and from a bakery (I always forget to check it out) in Ballard and coffee is from Lighthouse (my favorite!). When I had their salmon for the first time, I got goose bumps all over my body. So Good. The owner/chef has his own herb garden in the back, and he always comes out to greet and chit chat with each customers. You need to make a reservation.

I should have grabbed a burger before the movie rather than risking that night. What I order was wrong too. Anyway, even when you feel like eating noodle, do not order Tempura noodle here. If you do, you'll be surprised to see red cabbage in black broth(red cabbage has something to do with this blackness, I think), I can't remember but there was other ingredients in this soup that shocked me. I'll add that later on when I remember.

The Dish is my favorite breakfast/brunch joint in Ballard/Fremont. It takes a while to get a table on weekends but you can wait outside with coffee if it's nice out. So many choices on bottles of hot sauce for your eggs. I normally get half order of "Veggie Eggs Benedict" which got spinach and tomato in stead of ham. I also like tofu and broccoli scramble. If you don't mind waiting, it's worth a try before hitting flee market.

Great Hot Tofu Soup
They are famous for their (homemade?) soft TOFU hot soup. The tofu is so soft that melts in your mouth literally and the soup will do |
