Barbacoa is our local. It is the go-to local spot for a quick, delicious meal in a casual atmosphere. Our favorite dishes are the Pork Carnitas Tacos and the Enchiladas Verdes. That said, we have had most of the items on the menu and they are delicious. Try the Texas Margarita and the Julip; both are very tasty. The owners and the waitstaff are great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Make the trip to Queen Anne and find a little bit of Texas.

Dr. Reid is an endodontist which means he specializes in doing root canals. I went to see him one afternoon on two hours notice with an awful toothache. He diagnosed the problem, communicated to me what he was going to do and then did it. It wasn't an altogether pleasant experience but he did his best to minimize the pain that I felt. I was grateful to him that he made my toothache go away.
He has won awards from local magazines as the best doctor in the city. So if you have the need for a root canal, he is the guy to go see. Enjoy!

I have recently moved away from Seattle and I really miss McCarthy & Schiering. Why? Because I have trouble finding great Washington state wines now for one. These guys always have great new vintners mixed in with the elite of Washington winemakers. I loved finding an outstanding bottle for $18 in this shop. I also miss the friendly staff who always treated you nicely no matter how much or how little you know about wine. Finally, I miss the Saturday afternoon tastings. Spending a half hour browsing in the shop while tasting two or three wines is a great Saturday afternoon activity.

I actually think Malena's is the best Mexican food in Seattle. Ok, I can hear the Texans and Californians arguing that "best Mexican in Seattle" doesn't say very much but this food is really good -- and really cheap. Although they don't have the delicious margaritas available at El Camino, I think the food is actually better and it costs about 1/3 the price at El Camino.
This is a classic hole-in-the-wall neighborhood joint -- and the salsa is delicious. Give Malena's a try -- I think you will enjoy it.

I was excited by the claim made on the storefront of this Queen Anne pizza joint but after trying the calzone, my wife and I came to the conclusion that it was not the world's greatest. It wasn't even that good. I struggle to find better pizza in Seattle than the kind you order from Pagliaccia. Props to Pagliaccia as the best home delivery pizza place in any town I have ever lived in.
