Being from the South, it has to be said that I prefer Coke over Pepsi, and I was recently in Atlanta visiting relatives when it was suggested that we take a run down to World of Coke and take a tour.
Well, you had to pay to get in which kind of cheesed me off because it's not like they're strapped for cash or anything.
Then you get in and see a whole bunch of old tin signs and stuff like that, and then that's it. You exit through the gift shop (of course) and that's that. The only cool thing about it is that there's an area where you can sample coke products from around the world. There's some place in South America that has a pineapple coke or something. I don't know. I was so bored that by the time I got to the free drink (in dixie cup) part, I was delirous

My kids took me on this tour when I first visited SEattle and they said I had to go on it. So I did.
I think they just wanted someone else to suffer with them on this tour. It's not that it's bad, but it's pretty canned. I've been on it twice and both times (spaced over a year apart), the schtick was EXACTLY the same. Same bad jokes, same lame puns, etc.
I think the tour would be more interesting if they just got rid of the tour guides. As it is, there's a bit of walking and it's not very friendly to those who may have disabilities and use wheelchairs.
The underground part was pretty interesting and they noted that parts of the city had to be built up nearly 30 feet higher than they originally were. I liked how Seattle kept the glass panes on the sidewalks so that light could shine in on the underground businesses.
Parts are dusty too and gave me allergies. Take a benadryl before you go so you don't get the sneezies like I did.

My daughter and son-in-law live in Seattle and visiting there has made Seattle my second favourite city in the world!
They took me to Seattle Center and it was pretty interesting. They didn't have too much of a good time, but I thought the exhibits were nice and I especially liked the carnival atmosphere when a festival was going on. We were there during the Tibet Fest and there were so many vendors and artisans and the most delcious food.
I think it's best visited when there is something going on. When there aren't any festivals it seems kind of dead and there's not much to do. Also, the skee-ball machine was broken at the arcade and I was kind of bummed out about that.

I love the Pavillion. I took my daughter there all the time when she was a wee babe and we were in MB with my parents for Shriners Conventions.
The Pavillion now, as an adult with a grown daughter is just as fun. I don't know...there's something almost magical about stepping through the gates and getting the whole sensation---the smell of corn dogs and elephant ears, the blinging sounds of the arcade, the sticky feel of the floor under your feet, and the unsettling wetness that is present in the seat of every ride.
But it's all fun. Even if you're not a ride-rider (like me), it's great just to walk around and see other people on the rides. To me, it's the experience that counts not just the attractions. Granted, they do have some major rides and games--it's like the county fair, only it's not open for just a week, but for nearly 6 months out of the year.
No visit to MB is complete without a stop at the Gay Dolphin (see my review on that) and the Pavillion.

Oh my! All the time when my daughter was in school the fieldtrip of choice was to go to Carowinds. Band went to Carowinds. Cheerleaders went to Carowinds. Footballers went to Carowinds....so be prepared to be in the park with large numbers of Middle and High Schoolers when you go to Carowinds.
It's not a bad theme-park. It's closer to us than Six Flags in Altanta is, and much closer than Disney. Expect to pay about $20 a person to get in, but keep an eye out for soda cans that have discounts on them. They're everywhere and usually can knock $5 or so off your admission price.
The rides are standard fare---some roller coasters, the ship that swings, the zoom-zoom things, the flip-u-upside down....Honestly...once you've been to one amusement park, you've been to them all.

Once in a great while you find a store that is worth driving nearly an hour to get to.
Hungryneck Antique Mall is one of those places. It is HUGE. I think it takes up the space of an old K-mart or something. Anyways, it is just plain HUGE. You walk in and there aren't individual booths, just antiques all over the place. It feels like your grandma's attic....stuff on shelves and in trunks and here and there. IT's a mish-mosh but at the same time, well organized and just So much stuff!!!
When you go, plan to spend no less than 2 hours just wandering around. And once you think you've seen it all, turn the corner and realize that you still have another 3/4 of the building to go.
Be prepared to get your hands dirty. Like all antique stores, this place is dusty but well worth it. To even begin to list the things they have is impossible. I mean, it's got EVERYTHING!!!! I've yet to go there and not leave with SOMETHING, no matter how large or small. They WILL have something that interests you and the stuff there is *NOT* expensive at all.

I love otters!
Being originally from South Carolina, I was expecting the Seattle Aquarium to be like the Charleston Aquarium---overpriced, small, not too many exhibits, and generally disappointing.
Au contraire!...

Au contraire! This aquarium is just the tops. They have otters, which I love. They have a huge pacific octopus as well which is very large and red and stares at you with its big googly eye.
They have touch tanks and just tons of exhibits and tanks and wildlife and it's a really nice way to spend the day.
My kid is fully grown and married, but I saw alot of little ones here when I visited and they seemed to just be having the time of their lives. Very kid & family friendly

Very good and fast service
Jay and Ray are the guys you want to see if you need auto repairs that are honest and they don't jack up prices to make themselves a big fat pocket. Honestly!
They'll tell you what your problem is...
Jay and Ray are the guys you want to see if you need auto repairs that are honest and they don't jack up prices to make themselves a big fat pocket. Honestly!
They'll tell you what your problem is and tell you honestly how much it will cost to fix it. I've never been treated so courtesously by a mechanic in my life. They don't treat us females like we're dumb and don't know a wheel from an engine.
