I've been taking our two cats here for five years. Over the years we have seen all their vets, and Drs. Price and Christensen more than the others. They have always been very attentive and caring.
We just had to have one of the cats put down yesterday. He was a great favorite of the staff and when we went in everyone was incredibly supportive and told us how sad they were. They all agreed, gently, that it was his time to go (he was very old, had a tumor, and had stopped eating). Today the doorbell rang and when I opened it, I found a beautiful flower arrangement--yep, from the vet.
In response to other posts: I have not found the front desk staff uncaring or inconsistent. What they are is busy--this is a crowded clinic--and sometimes you have to wait while they serve someone else. If that bugs you, you probably should find another vet.

My experience over eight years of going here is that the sandwiches are good, the pies are great, and the cakes are *awful.* We got pies to go for our wedding rehearsal dinner (a barbecue) and they were just unbelievable--big, sweet berries, flaky crust, everything you ever wanted in a pie. So a year or two later, I went there to get my husband's 39th birthday cake, a carrot cake. It was beautifully decorated, looked scrumptious--and was oily and tasteless. For some reason, they don't (or didn't, anyway) use cream cheese frosting on their carrot cakes (I mean, what other kind is there???). We ate a few bites of it and tossed the rest. Yet I can't totally hold it against them--it's a nice place to hang if you're at Green Lake. Just get your birthday cakes somewhere else.

We've only been a couple of times, but the food is very good, and they have live music on weekends! They have some great vegetarian options among the pies, and yes, they do have good desserts as well.

The skin on my scalp is sensitive, and while I've gotten good cuts and color at other places, I'm always sore for a while afterwards. I came across the JB reviews for Mode, and something about "organic" clicked. I went to the Roosevelt location and Celeste did a great job on my hair. I was looking to go a bit darker and lower-maintenance and she knew exactly what to do. Now I have a great, easy style and just the color I wanted for a very reasonable price--plus, it didn't hurt! It's also one of the cutest little salons I've ever seen, and even their coffee is organic (and delicious, I might add). I must give Celeste big props for the fantastic hand massage she gave me while we were waiting on my color. I think I've found my long-term salon.

Melanie did my hair for two years and is really the best. I quit going here somewhat regretfully, but just had a hard time justifying spending a lot of money on my hair. But I agree with other posters--RL is an amazing salon. I've had cuts, coloring, manis, pedis, massages here, all top-notch. You do get what you pay for.

I have been having my facials and brow waxing/tinting here for the last couple of years, and recently started getting my hair cut and colored here also. Michelle is terrific--I can't believe how good my brows look when she is finished with them. Nicole has only done my hair once, but did a great job and I will be returning to her soon. One thing I really like is that there isn't a lot of pointless waiting around--they're ready for you when you arrive and get you in and out fast. I also love the fact that it's an Aveda salon and they have the full range of Aveda products, plus a lot of very pretty jewelry and accessories. Best of all, parking is EASY and FREE, not $8-10 like it is downtown! And the neighborhood is fun--when you're done with your services, you can go next door for sushi or across the street for coffee.

I've had my hair cut at some excellent, very chic salons in Boston, LA and Seattle, and DB Sutton is absolutely up to snuff. Rachel did a great cut and partial foil on me, and was friendly and efficient. My hair is important, but my time is too, and not a second was wasted. I was out the door in just over 1.5 hours. One week later, I am still totally impressed every time I look in the mirror.

We've been taking Fiona here for four or five years, and she's finally graduated to the "big chair." They're friendly and fast, and have great stuff to entertain the kids, but lately I feel they're just not listening to me about the challenges of her hair, which doesn't part easily and all falls forward from a single point in the back. I keep saying I want her to have a short, easy cut that we don't have to fuss with--I actually asked them to cut it in a bowl cut once, and that particular stylist refused to do it! She actually said "No, bowl cuts are for boys!" I made sure we didn't get her again, but it hasn't helped. I always seem to get the line about "you can just put some clips in here while she grows out this part." I am decidedly NOT the hair stylin' mama they seem to want me to be, nor is my child yet inclined to do her own hair, so I think we'll start looking for something else. Anyone have any suggestions?
I do recommend this salon for folks whose kids don't have problem hair, or who don't mind being pressed into the "girls get A and boys get B" school of hairstyling. Everything else about the place is fine, and I've never seen a crying child there in our years of going there.
