Little did I know that each dealership is different. Acura of Seattle near the airport) was the worst of the bunch. No loaner car if yours is in the shop for more than a few hours. Higher prices for the same service. Acura of Bellevue wasn't much better. Lynnwood's Acura is on a higher tier of dealers. They've never hesitated to give me a loaner if anything was going to be more than 2 hours, service prices were actually lower than the other two places. Although it's in Lynnwood, it's a better deal. Complimentary internet access, coffee, etc is available like any other Acura dealer.

Touchstone is unique in the sense that almost everything they bake is made with whole wheat flour. Understand that you need to have skill and that special touch to make whole wheat anything not taste puck-like. I like getting their croissants, spelt muffins, and especially their granola, a steal at $3.00/pound. It's a convenient stop as you're heading towards the Fremont bridge in the AM.

I've been getting my hair cut here for the last two years and all I can say is that they are always expanding or improving! My stylist was originally at Habitude when they were on Ballard Ave and I followed her here. This salon uses Bumble & Bumble products but they aren't product-pushy. Tea or water is offered before hair cuts and a light scalp massage is done before cutting. Check out their Happy Hour M-F between 4-6PM. You can get great salon services like manicures and brow waxing for a discount if you go during Happy Hour.

Habitude is a Northwest-inspired salon. Not only does it offer hair services, but it also has a menu of spa services as well. Originally located on Ballard Avenue before the big fire, it has rebuilt near the locks. Haircuts are good, and they use Aveda products for the most part. If you're looking for a new stylist and don't want to go where your mother gets her hair cut (Gene Juarez), check it out.

I went to this salon for about three or four cuts. First of all, most of the stylists in this salon are ex-Gene Juarez people. If you like the way they cut hair there, this will be a good fit for you. Unfortunately for me, I either don't like the French method of cutting, or I didn't mesh well with my stylist. I am a picky customer, but she seemed very defensive at the suggestions I made to her. Other people in the salon seemed happy every time I was there. Somehow I just didn't feel the welcome I have felt at other salons.

This place looks like it came out of a time warp, but it's a good place to get men's dress shirts laundered and pressed for less than $1.50 a piece if you bring in three or more at a time. I can't remember how much they charge exactly, but it's less than most places. The Korean couple that run this place are friendly, and you can grab a cup of coffee at Lighthouse Roasters around the corner after you drop off your load of shirts.

I bought a used Snoogle on Craigslist for $25. I'm glad that I didn't chunk out for one since I only used it for several weeks. It's meant for you to use as a pillow on one end, meaning if you like a squishier or firmer pillow, you'll have to supplement. Also, if you alternate sleeping sides all night like I do, it is difficult to move it while you're half asleep. I ended up removing it from my bed out of frustration due to the awkwardness of it and ended up with 4 or 5 pillows of varying firmness. The pillows work way better. Another annoying thing is the pillow case. It comes in two pieces and supposedly overlaps in the middle. The middle part of the pillow keeps getting exposed because the cases pull apart. Not what I expect for a $40-50 pillow.

I've been going to the Ballard Farmer's Market since it started out in the US Bank parking lot a few years ago. It's now become so large that it takes up a large portion of Ballard Avenue every Sunday. And how it's expanded! Flowers, fresh crepes, nuts, berries, vegetables, plants, bread, eggs, meat, oysters, condiments - you name it, it's probably there. I used to go to the University Market but stopped since this market rivals the selection found in the U district.

I was surprised at the selection at the Lake City Farmer's Market. It is smallish, but well rounded. You'll find bread, crepes, veggies, berries and fruit, condiments, flowers, and sometimes seafood/meat. It's a convenient stop on the way home if you live in North Seattle. The only drawback is that parking can be a nightmare.

We had a small pile of junk sitting in our back yard and eventually we got sick of looking at it. At first, we called the 800-got-junk to remove it. After giving us a fairly high quote and also realizing that they are based in British Columbia (!), we found this company in the newspaper. Lorenz is the owner and hauler. He'll come and haul your |
