best coffee in town
Mmmm... Splendido. My wife and I used to have Splendido Friday's even when we were broke we would have enough scratch for Splendido coffee (did I mention their prices are really really reasonable?)...
Mmmm... Splendido. My wife and I used to have Splendido Friday's even when we were broke we would have enough scratch for Splendido coffee (did I mention their prices are really really reasonable?) These people are SO incredibly nice (I know it's a barista job to be nice but these folks have a heaping helping of cheer) great music usually playing as well (last time it was Johnny Cash). They never scorch the milk either... best coffee in Seattle!

What isn't good about this place? Helpful staff, in store readings by authors you actually want to see and meet, great give aways, etc. The variety is astounding, there's an online store now too....

Elliot Bay is pretty hard to out do especially if you are close, I don't even read all that much and I think this place is great. Besides you feel alot better walking out of Elliot Bay than you ever will out of a Barnes and Noble (shudder at the thought).

Man, Remember watching "the Big Lebowski" and instantly wanting to go bowling? No? Well then go watch "the Big Lebowski" and you'll understand. Sunset Bowl is just that classic bowling alley scene, the smells, the people, the cheap (as in quality not price) beer (not including the Mac & Jacks). This place is great! Seriously, bowling lost something when every hippster started going when ever they thought it would be ironic or something but at Sunset there's none of that (well except on friday and saturday nights.... damn). Go! Bowl! Have Fun!

I felt as though he was open to our suggestions but also had ideas of his own. He operates out of his own home which is really nice during the initial stages of talking over plans of the big day and great for going and viewing the photos after they are developed (plus it was fun to meet his cats). Everything with Dennis was painless. If you are getting married PLEASE don't trust a "family friend who is going to do it for free", if they are doing it for free they are much less concerned with your happiness... go to a professional, go to Dennis!

I've only seen Dr. Nakatsu, but I can say he's been a great doctor and has both given me good advice and also listened to my issues. If you don't know of a good optometrist on Cap hill, check this place out. They have a great selection of frames, and quick service.

I took one of the "warm glass" classes at Pratt last year, and still can't get over what a wonderful place it is. The variety of courses offered are amazing, and the amount of one on one time with outstanding artists is top notch. Be a member, or start taking classes as soon as possible. It may seem expensive, but it's sooooo worth it. They have courses for every skill level, so don't feel like you have to be an "artist" to have fun.

We have been going to the flower lady for 5 years now. Her shop makes beautiful bouquets on the spot for very fair prices. They also have a great selection of other small gifts and cards. We even ordered the flowers for our wedding through the shop, with wonderful results. The people there have been very helpful and friendly to us every time we visit.

They also have a fun section for kids stuff, but all of it is great for adults too! There's alot of those kitchy sorts of magnets and postcards that are a real kick. They have a bunch of cool handmade cards, clothing and other products from local artists as well. It's hard to go in there and not buy anything!

We found this store randomly one day, and now we go back all the time! They have a huge selection of cards and a wide variety of gifts. If you're looking for gifts for kids, they have a lot of affordable little gifts that looked fun. There was a good amount of women's accessories that were pretty cute too. All in all they have alot of unique affordable gifts for everyone. I was thrilled to find that they sell my favorite stuffed animal line of "Giant Microbes". Check them out!
