Wanda does an amazing job -- she's got a keen eye for composition and has a great portfolio. "Toss the Bouquet" represents her dedicated efforts for wedding photography, and she really seems to capture a lot where other photographers end up just documenting the ceremony.
Wanda is also on top of her business affairs, and is able willing to travel for out-of-town events.

Whatever you do, make sure you try a pizza and a calzone -- but bring a small army with an appetite. The Vesuvio calzone is as big as a pie -- something on the order of sixteen inches in diameter -- and the Neopolitan style pizzas are superb. Don't bother trying to walk in on a Saturday night without expecting to wait -- from the get-go, these guys have been every bit as popular as they deserve to be.

Panos himself runs this little 24-to-28-top space squeezed in between the Great Nabob and Caffe Vita on 5th Ave N. of downtown. It's real alright -- so much so that you find Panos gone on holiday in Greece if you try him in the wrong month. The dishes all come from his family recipes, and the waitresses are happy to pronounce anything that you can't (and let you know which house dishes are the ones you don't want to miss). Start out with the Tatziki & Pita -- the bread is right out of the oven. Lamb dishes are also fantastic.

At first, Veil seems one of those overly hip and trendy spots that is misplaced -- a round peg in the square hole that has been the lower east side of Queen Anne. I'm hopeful that it will garner enough of a following and repeat interest to stay, but it will have to work hard to find its market and get them to return time and again.
In short, its a delightful experience -- high end food and vino, beautiful presentation, and after only having been open a couple of weeks, they seemed to have most of the beginning bugs worked out. Ultimately, though, I'll make a stop in only when I have a special occasion to do so, as the cost of dining there is on par with some of the pricier options in the city.
Portions are moderately sized but sufficient, and glass pours are standard (four-and-a-half ounces). The night we went, the ambiance was one of exclusivity, and you felt like you were somewhere along Rodeo Drive. If you have the wherewithal and insist on trying all the new Seattle joints, then by all means (and I mean, "all means") go ahead.

Moxie has all the right components to become a new standby on Lower Queen Anne. The chef/owner duo cut their teeth at Matt's and Chez Shea, and have brought some of the better qualities of both those eateries to Moxie.
The standard menu looked good (we tried a prix fixe on New Years Eve), and the wine list is solid. Service was great, and the decor of the place gives one a sense of intimacy without being stuffy. Although moderately priced for a white table cloth style dining experience, it would be easy to spend more than you planned. Regardless, its a great date place.
Moxie is in the right place at the right time, and will definitely appeal to the theater crowd. Although its been easy to get a table early on, I suspect that evenings before highbrow events at the Seattle Center will be busy. Plan a dinner after eight or on off-nights if you don't make reservations.

This place has been on the top of Queen Anne under a couple of different names -- but thank goodness, the equipment and calzone recipes haven't changed. If you like your calzone with a doughy crust, and stuffed full of some of the best baked mozzarella and tomato sauce you can imagine, then you'll make the same habit I have and start coming here more than my doctor says I should ...
The portions are generous. Despite your urge to do otherwise, I'll encourage you to take a long walk after dinner.
Pizza and salads are OK, and the wine selection is wanting, but there's always a decent rotating draft tap and sodas as alternatives.

But don't kid yourself. Sunday brunch isn't Sunday brunch without the 5 Spot. This Queen Anne standard is hard to beat for regular brekky plates (flapjacks, eggs and sausage) or the more exotic dishes they serve to reflect their rotating regional menu. Get there early enough (before 10 am), and you have a chance at their one-of-a-kind coffee cake or morning specials. Get there anytime after 9:30, and you might as well be ready with your newspaper for the 30min+ wait. Dinner mimics the breakfast scene, especially on weekends, but either way its worth the wait.

Craig and Jessie do a bang-up job of serving right-sized portions at prices that come in under the downtown elite. Not or trendy, these are dishes that are done well, timed perfectly, and in a setting that makes for a timeless restaurant. Great wine list that also comes in under the typical 300% markup. The crowd is also an eclectic mix -- Queen Anne opera goers, young urbanites, and oenophiles all. Soon to be a long-time Seattle fave.

This place deserves to be a long time mainstay of the Ballard dining scene. Great dishes, moderate prices, and a mole that is second to none (that from a born-and-bred Texan). This is not Tex-Mex -- its genuine southern Mexican cuisine, and some of the best you'll find in the Northwest. The wait is unbearable on a weekend night, but worth all your patience, and makes the meal that much more special.
