The Neptune is, simply put, a great theatre. It has balcony seating, fabulous decor, cup holders, and comfortable seats. The sound and picture quality is comparable to any other movie theatre, and going to the Neptune makes a trip to the movies special instead of McDonald's-like. My only complaint is that only the first showing on weekdays is a matinée and they don't offer a student discount of any sort, so to get a bargain you have to go early. Otherwise a great place to catch a flick.

I got a manicure recently at Sally's Nails, and I'm still wondering to myself why I didn't just walk out in the middle of it. While the manicurist was trimming my cuticles (with trimmers that came out of an auto-clave looking thing, but did not look anywhere CLOSE to clean), she used the trimmers to trim one of her OWN cuticles and then went back to mine. I'm fairly sure this violates some RCW or another, but even if it doesn't it's just plain disgusting. I also didn't see licences displayed for any of the individual manicurists, just a "salon/shop" license at the front of the store.
Don't go here. Spend more and get a good, clean manicure elsewhere.

I have dreams about Thai-ger Room's yellow curry. The potatoes are perfectly flavored, the curry well-spiced, the tofu (or chicken, or beef) cooked just right. The Phad Thai is fantastic, the Swimming Rama is super-yummy. The Drunken Noodles and the Golden Noodles are both worth a try. The only caution I would offer is that the cook has a heavy hand with the chili, so order one or two stars less spicy than you usually would. Thai-ger room is open until 10 most nights, they don't deliver but you can call ahead for take-out. Around dinner time (or lunch on weekdays) there's often a wait of 15 or 20 minutes, so be prepared to stand outside waiting for a table to open up.
Entrees are $6-7 each.
No Smoking.

Pegasus isn't quite in Seattle - you'll have to take a 35 minute ferry ride to get to Bainbridge Island - but this coffee is worth it. It's roasted on the island and is simply sublime. There's the added bonus, of course, of a beautiful view of Seattle from the ferry on the return trip - the only way to see the "Fraiser view"!

The lunchtime vegetarian buffet here is definitely worth a visit - there's this cauliflower dish with something orange (yams? sweet potatoes?) and tahini (I think) that I have to stop myself from going back for 4th helpings. It's really good. For the most part the rest of the buffet is good, some have called it bland but I find it to be perfectly acceptable.

I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Agua Verde - sure, the views are great and the margaritas are good, but the food leaves something to be desired. I found the tortillas to be... rather raw and mealy, and the fillings of several tacos I've had there has been rather bland and uninspiring. Some people loooove Agua Verde, but it gets a pass in my book.

The milkshakes are Burger Hut are great, and it's open until 1 or 2 in the morning. They're fairly cheap too - I want to say they're about $3 each. The chocolate malts are particularly good. I can't speak to the quality of the burgers (as I'm vegetarian) but Burger Hut certainly has its devotees. The onion rings are good too.

Amanda's is a small, locally-owned yarn shop that is everything a knitter could hope for in a local yarn store. Amanda's carries a selection of beautiful yarns, but the best part about the store is that Amanda herself is wonderful, friendly, and very very helpful. She hosts a drop-in knitting help session ($10) weekly for knitters to come to along with projects that are giving them trouble. She teaches very competently and runs a very nice little store.
