I hired Smith's Painting to waterproof and seal our deck and fence. They did an absolutely fabulous job, and the pricing was great! Tyler was extremely courteous, and was extremely flexible with regards to coming out and doing an estimate, and scheduling the job to be done. Though he did exterior work for us, I have seen interior work that he has done, and I guarantee that he would do just as great of a job! I am more than likely going to hire them to paint the inside of our home, as I hate doing it myself!!!

McClendon's is what hardware stores used to be. You'll find them packed to the ceiling with every possible widget and gadget you could need. They aren't a megastore and they are often a little higher priced on big tools than you can find elsewhere. But they do pack an amazing assortment of odds and ends. They are a usually a better source of yard project materials (brick, decorations, etc) than you'll find at the megastore. They are busy on the weekends but you can get good help at other times.

McLendon Hardware in Bothell may be a bit more pricey, but you get a knowledgeable staff and more specialty items than the bigger warehouses. They may be small in size but they pack of ton of items onto their shelves. Watch for their coupon book in the mail for some real good deals.

They are knowledgeable about different brands and the pros and cons of service and upkeep costs of the parts. The service and advice is served up with a healthy sense of humor. While waiting at the school bus stop one morning, one of the parents pulled out from our street going left on the the main road. It is a blind corner, so even after looking both ways, sometimes cars can come up quickly behind you from the right. This was the case that day, and it happened to be a "Northlake Septic" truck who evidently felt cut off. The driver proceeded to lay on his horn for several hundred feet while closely tailgaiting the driver who had pulled out on to the road. The driver clearly hasn't pulled out from that road before, and obviously forgets that anyone who lives in that neighborhood is on septic. Just remember when you "road rage" in a company vehicle, it not only makes the driver look stupid, but it is a bad representation for the company as well. I called the company because if I owned a company and had a driver represent my business in such a way, I would want to know about it. I was mistaken. I was told I was wrong and that I did not see such event take place. So, when shopping for a septic service, skip the "N's" in the yellow pages. There are many more companies who's drivers are safe and courteous.
