ok this is the second time i've been here .. yes i'm an idiot i moved here recently and needed a vet for my babyso the 1st time i went my cat had swollen gums... the vet tried to guilt me into having his fangs extracted ..telling me " i was HURTING my cat" what are you kidding me .. i fished for tons of info asking about alternative procedures .. draning his gums around the infected fang .. asking for a specialist and the only answer i could get was no, there is no alternative and no specialist. so i let them take blood to see if he was a candidate for surgery .. which he was and then got a call the next day telling me to bring him in ... WAIT i DIDNT OK ANYTHING i kept him home .. and watched him for 3 days .. when the gum began to drain i was there to clean it out take care of him disinfect him and hold him ... yea he still has his teeth 2 YEARS LATER.so like an idiot i bring him back with his brother for a check up... here we go again with the f#** in Teeth... he's lost wait she says how much i ask 1/4 of a pound yet his brother has lost 2 pound ( he was on a kitty diet) his gums are inflamed .. again with the fangs .. yes but he is NOT complaining.you need to have them both removed she says .. and again i ask all the questions .. is there an alternative cant he just have a deep cleaning what a bout a freakin X ray is he running a fever ..NOTHING once again like an ass i consent to blood work costing me 250.00 i feel TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF EVERY TIME I GO THERE im treated like an IDIOT .. and yea i am for going there twice but DONT GO

I've taken my pup there a few times and the front desk people, for the most part, have been very friendly and seem to enjoy what they do. The doctors, at least the two that my dog has seen, do not listen to concerns at all and try to rush you in and out as quick as they can.

Dangerous: Incorrect Surgical Procedure

More 7 months ago
I brought my cat into the hospital for surgery. He needed to have an internal lump removed and his teeth cleaned. When I went to pick him up after the surgery I was horrified to discover that they operated on him in the wrong spot. His lump was still there, and he had been cut open and sewn back up about 6 inches from where the actual lump remained. Dr. Edwards, who performed the surgery, refused to take any responsibility for the fact that she had cut my cat open in the wrong spot and simply sewed him back up trying to pass it off as if she had done the proper surgery. Dr. Edwards blamed the vet technician for not doing her job and shaving my cat's lump when we arrived. In addition, Dr. Edwards told me that she couldn't locate my cat's lump from his chart because she couldn't even read one of the other veterinarian's handwriting. Even worse was when I called the next day to explain what had happened to the owner of Northeast Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Reeves. He was extremely rude and apparently only concerned about money because he refused to give me a full refund. The worst part about all this is the complete disregard for my cat's well-being. None of the veterinarians cared that my cat suffered because of their carelessness. The multiple mistakes and incompetence this veterinarian clinic showed is inexcusable. I would warn people to stay away from Northeast Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Edwards and Dr. Reeves. They do not care about animals and are rude and dangerously incompetent.

We have been taking our dogs to Eastlake Vets for over 15 years. Dr. Anderson is my absolute favorite, but the other vet there is great, too. They have always taken great care of our dogs, and when the time came for one of our dogs to go, they were incredibly kind and helpful. We even got a card from them later. It was a rough time for our whole family, but Dr. Anderson and his assistants were wonderful.

I loved Annabelle's vet but they were incredibly pricey and pushed crazy things like laser surgery when getting your dog spayed because "it quickens healing time" and they made me feel horrible for not wanting to pay the extra $100 to knock off a day of resting. Without any extras the spay was over $200. Ridiculous! And when we first got her as a puppy she had fleas and they insisted I buy the oil treatments for her as well as a pill. Again, ridiculous! I wouldn't go there again because the care is not worth the cost!

I took my 4 year old American Eskimo Dog in recently for care and was
very impressed with Dr. Karen Konz. She was very sweet and gentle with
my dog who is quite a baby when it comes to getting anything done to her.
She also took the time to talk with me about vaccinations and the importance
of my dog getting them. Her receptionist/assistant Abby was very nice too.
I will definitely bring my dog back to see Dr. Konz.

I went to this clinic on a friend's recommendation and was very impressed. My cat had a problem with itchy ears, and the vet (Dr. Windom) did a nice job diagnosing and treating it. (Problem was not earmites.) She also seemed to genuinely care about my cat. And she taught me a bit about the anatomy of the cat ear and was very personable.
This clinic is not a shiny, slick-hospital type of place. It is more a basic, no-frills place, which I actually prefer. The bill was reasonable too. I will definitely be back.

Take your cat anywhere else!

More
After being a client at Cat's Exclusive for 16 years, we were recently dismissed as clients because we complained about the horrendous treatment we got from a vet who looks like she has been out of veterinary school for about 10 minutes. We used to always see Richard Lester, but recently we brought our 1 year-old Abyssinian in for an ER visit. He was running a temperature and his breathing was rapid and shallow. We were shown into a room with a "Doctor" Fleigel who decided to do not diagnostic testing, even when we begged her to. She told us that "there is a nasty virus going around that is affecting indoor-only cats, and the reason your cat is breathing that way is because he is trying to cool himself down".
LIAR!
Cats do not do this. He couldn't breathe because he was dying of pneumonia and fluid was building up in his lungs. He needed to be on intravenous antibiotics, oxygen and needed a chest X-Ray. Because we had just gotten some new kittens 2 weeks prior, "Doctor" Fleigel believed that he just had a simple upper repertory virus and that since we had an appointment with our regular vet, Richard Lester the next day, she decided to take a "let's just wait and see" approach, despite our objections that he was truly sick and needed diagnostic testing done.
She sent our beautiful 1 year and 3 day old cat home to die.
By the time our appointment with Richard Lester happened the next day, Qaalee was clinically dead. He was in a coma, one organ after another shutting down. 7 hours after "Doctor" Fleigel sent us away, I called Dr. Alexa Allen, DVM and described Qaalee's symptoms to her. Even though it was after 8pm, she agreed to come over right away. She took one quick look at Qaalee and told us very frankly "it doesn't look good" and accompanied us to Animal Critical Care Emergency Services on Lake City Way (please see my reviews of both Dr. Alexa Allen and ACCES~~which are highly positive) where they tried for nearly 20 hours to save Qaalee's life.
After Qaalee died, I called Cat's Exclusive to complain about them and to speak to Richard Lester, who I have been taking my purebreds to for the past 16 years (way longer than "Doctor" Fleigel has been on staff with CE). Richard decided to stand behind the firm instead of with us and maintain that if he had been the vet to see us that day, he would have "done exactly the same thing"....meaning that he would send a dying cat home without doing any testing.
LIAR!
Richard Lester is notorious for doing every test under the sun, even unnecessary testing to rack up the bills (once, when our 10-year-old Delilah was having a bout of anemia he wanted to do a $1600 bone marrow test! We declined, opting to give her an inexpensive iron injection instead, and her anemia cleared right up). I would speculate that over the past 16 years we have easily spent $30,000 on vet care at Cat's Exclusive, and they simply dismiss us as clients because we complained about a new vet that they hired?
That is simply shameful. Dennis Wackerbarth, who owns the clinic~~and takes care of the big cats at Woodland Park Zoo~~ is wrong for dismissing us (even though we would never go there again), and we shall see who a judge agrees with when I take them to small claims court to win back some of the money that we spent at ACCES trying to save Qaalee's life. We spent nearly $3,000 on the last 20 hours of Qaalee's life, and it was unnecessary because when "Doctor" Flegiel saw Qaalee, he was salvageable. We believe this whole heartedly and have experts who also believe the same thing.
So just be aware that if you choose this Golden Door veterinary clinic to see your precious kitties, you will either be sent away with a dying cat or you will be charged for unnecessary testing, depending upon the luck of your draw as to whom you get placed in a room with. There are way better cat clinics out there...but I believe I have found the best solution...have the vet come to your house! Your cat won't be as stressed out, no chance of catching a virus or fleas (we did have a flea bout after Delilah's spay surgery at Cat's Exclusive) it's easier for you and really it isn't much more money, at all. Yes, cat owners need to have a good place to take their kitties in to do things like spay and neuter or teeth cleaning, but practically anything else can be done by a vet who makes house calls.
Don't support Cat's Exclusive with your money!

Dr. Perrotti-Orcutt and her staff are wonderful. Appointments are on time and I always feel as though she asks the right questions and listens carefully to the information I provide. She responds to my questions as well. And she and the staff all have a terrific way with animals, particularly dogs.
I don't feel pressured to purchase products or expensive services, as has happened elsewhere. Costs are reasonable and billing is thoroughly explained.
Dr. Perrotti-Orcutt was especially sensitive earlier this year when we needed to put down a pet who was elderly and very ill. She and an assistant came to our home, which is nearby the clinic, to do the procedure. Their professionalism and grace made the whole experience much more bearable.
We've recommended this vet to a number of friends and will continue to do so.
