Well, they're downtown, in the Medical Dental building at 509 Olive, but I saw Dr. Yajuan Wang at the Oriental Medical Center several years ago for chronic hip pain, and it worked wonders for me. Before seeing her, I had a hard time sleeping and doing anything more than walking, and she worked with me to help heal it..... I loved her, found her very comforting and the whole experience was really great. I'd recommend her to anyone. Additionally, there are other Oriental Medicine practitioners in her office that work with various types of naturopathy and herbs etc....
here's a http://www.orientalmedicalcenter.com/index.html to their site. Their phone number is 206- 343-7223.

I love Kiehls in the University Village. The store is so well-put together, in my opinion. Something natural yet antique about the decor. The products though are excellent in my opinion. The lotions, lip balms, hair products and such are filled with such luscious, natural ingredients that you are sure to be hooked, even after a few free samples. I bought my mother a sample-size tote filled with all their best-selling products for Valentine's Day this year and now she is hooked, especially on the Intensive Hand Therapy. What really surprised me about the store was their selection of men's bath products-- you lads get so overlooked sometimes! They have great shaving creams... I'm sure your skin will thank you. Prices are very reasonable in my opinion and you only need a small dime-sized amount of lotion with each application of the numerous hand/body lotions so it will surely last you quite awhile. Enjoy!

I love getting facials, and I found that this place does a really good job! It's a small, cute place on Green Lake, and all the spa workers are very professional. They also have a great line of skin care products such as Dermologica and Dr. MD. The prices of facials are comparable to other spas, I think I paid $80 plus tips. I really like the products they use and they're really good at explaining to me what my problem areas are and what I need to do to clear the congestion on my skin. I used to go here once a month, but it does get pricey if you go every month! I think every other month is good.

This store smells amazing. Which is no surprise, really. The products here are expensive, but if you choose wisely I think they're worth it. Notable favorites are anything in the lemon verbena scent, especially the hand lotion and the soap. I love how everything is packaged here and the staff is great at helping you find what you need.

napolitano is great all over, but they specialize in mani/pedi, especially pedi. i think the salt scrub leg massage portion took 45 minutes per leg! it was amazing.
i also had a great massage and facial there.
their only downside is that some of the rooms face a school, so the outside noise will bother some people.

with the luck i had at places like Salon 7, i was afraid to let anyone else touch my hair. i really didn't need another $75 mullet. so after hearing some good stuff about Mode Organic salon i decided to give it a try.
the negative first: parking. mode downtown is on 4th and pike, so you have to find a garage and pay.
that's the only negative. molly cut my hair and was great. she's nice, she listened to me, and i think she did a super job. the scalp massage i got before the cut was heaven, and all of the scents in the salon are very calming and natural-smelling. no harsh chemicals there!
huge windows, fun but not blaring music and nice people make up the rest of the outfit. i will return.

More
I started going there as soon as they opened. The first month all services were $5. However, I first got a temporary color put on, and after two hours of work, NOTHING happened! I had to go back the next day for another 3 hours and get a permanent color put on. I had a mediocre student the first time, but eventually I found Erin. She did a great job for the time she was there. I have long hair that is probably 70% gray, so I wanted what they evidently call "a double process"; foiled highlights with color in between. Erin would do that I would be charged about $45, then a hair cut for about another $15. After she left, then next time around they wanted to charge me about $90 for the color only and said she had "undercharged me". After all that the last time my hair came out way too dark with no contrasts so I went back and they threw in a few blond streaks...this involved me coming back again and another couple hours!!!
So I am giving up on them and moving on to Nucleus where I know I'll pay about $100 but I will get great results every time. Too bad...I think GM is getting too expensive for a beauty school with beginners. And my time is worth something, too.
Some people like the atmosphere but for me the fact that all the students wear black and they mainly play techno music is annoying. I like to be in a relaxing atmosphere when I'm pampering myself.
And...the parking in front is no longer free. In fact you WILL get a ticket if you don't move your car every two hours; which is very hard to do when you are in the middle of a three hour process.

More
So I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Schell at Ageless, a medical spa near my home in Fremont. I had a small raised nodule on my temple and wanted a certified dermatoligist to look at it for diagnosis and possible removal. I was thinking a dermatoligist with an emphasis in cosmetic surgery would be a good idea since the nodule was on my face. If removal was necessary, appearance would be a consideration. I was told by the person who answered the phone that Dr. Schell does not take a patient until the patient has seen ANOTHER dermatologist for a diagnosis. When I pointed out that the web site indicated Dr. Schell is a board certified dermatologist who appeared competent to make a diagnosis, I was told "thats not the way we do it here". So I called 3 other dermatology offices to schedule an apointment, each of which explained that it would be a month and a half until a Dr. could see me. So lets say I wait a month and a half to see a dermatologist. I'm thinking, all this time, if it is actually skin cancer, its growing all this time. (While every dermatology site you read says "SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE WARNING SIGNS"). But, not being a dermatologist, I don't know what this nodule actually IS. But, hey, I'm worried. And now it looks like I'll have to wait for a month and a half ! So I'm thinking, maybe I'm missing something here. Is Ageless a Spa or a MEdical facility. Or is it a Spa that only takes cosmetic cases. I don't know what it is. So the bottom line is, I still don't know what this little nodule is on my face and I don't know what Ageless is up to either. Spa or Clinic.? Clinic or Spa. Its confusing. But then, what do I know ?
