You can find plenty of Japanese culture in Seattle. So it is not surprising to find several Japanese style gardens in the greater Seattle area. Kubota Garden is one of the better ones. The garden is located in South Seattle not far from the shores of Lake Washington. The garden is about 20 acres in size. Fujitaro Kubota began working on this garden in 1927. Over the years, a chain of ponds are built along with a traditional Japanese stroll garden, as well as a mountainside garden complete with waterfalls. The highlight of the garden is probably the arched moon bridge. There is a free tour of the gardens at 10 am on the fourth Saturday of each month.
