Where else could we possibly go in the Capitol Hill, Montlake, Madison Valley, Madison Park neighborhoods for an ice cream cone for the kids?!
Both my kids' first ice cream cones where dripped upon themselves here and we still enjoy the tradition (though we dribble less now).
Stop by and enjoy a cone while sitting outside and watching the beach crowd and neighborhood kids go by.

I love Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and you know what...the Mix reminds me of just that...sometimes even better. A small shop on the Ave right off 45th, this is a place you've gotta go. It's a wee bit expensive, but the price can be offset by coupons from the survival guide.
My favorite is the raspberry and brownie mix in! If you visit too often you'll probably get fat, but you know, if you get fat at least you've enjoyed yourself!

Postmark is a tiny little place right behind the Lenin statue in Fremont. The store is mostly taken up by a giant cooler with dozens of kinds of gelato and sorbetto, and the walls are plastered with dozens of postcards and posters. They sell panini sandwiches and such, but the gelato's really the main reason to come here.
The servers will give you a taste of any of the gelatos; try a few, then order a combination that sounds good to you. A (generously sized) small dish comes with two scoops, a medium with three and a large with four, so there's room to experiment. Chocolate-orange, coconut-pineapple, hazelnut-strawberry-jalepeno (yes, strawberry-jalepeno is a flavor -- taste before you order). A lot of sweet icy goodness for a fair price.

If you love ice cream at me, you will absoulty love Baskin Robins! This company has been popular and out for quite a time now and still doing good in buisness. It sells 32 original flavors. I recommend the Cookies & Cream (Oreo) or the Mint Chocolate Mint. Or, if your in a mood for a blended drink, get the Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake, its the best! Try and let me know if you enjoyed it!

Ice cream is my favorite desert.
If you're looking for more traditional deserts, I'd recommend the cheesecake factory. They have awesome pies

I love their ice cream, I have no problem with their procedures or the presentation. However, whenever someone leaves a tip the staff bangs on a bell and sings a loud (and often out of tune) annoying song. It interrupts any sort of conversation or train of thought as you are enjoying your ice cream. Although I would like to leave a tip for good service and don't want them to suffer, I REALLY don't want to hear the singing. What kind of a nut job in charge of the Cold Stone Creamery would implement such an idiotic idea? I don't see how anyone would seriously think this is charming.
It would be perfect it if weren't for the singing.

How no one has heard of this is a surprise BUT it is hidden down a short 10 foot hallway in the market. THIS IS REAL FROZEN YOGURT - not TCBY but refreshing and tangy homemade kind that is like nothing else. They have 2 or 3 softserve per day and a case with ice cream and other flavors of yogurt. SAVE YOUR GAS and go to the Pike Place Market instead of SeaTac or Lynwood! You can even take the bus or ride your bike.
Upon entering the market at the main entrance turn right onto the main drag and take your FIRST right into a little hallway at the asian goods stand. The Shy Giant is 10 steps away. If you get to Frank's Produce or Three Girls Bakery, you've gone too far.

Everybody loved our wedding cake from Ben & Jerry's. They have delicous cakes with simple designs. If you order them from the Ballard "scoop shop", then the proceeds go to a great non-profit organization.
And my now-husband wore it well :)
