Steve did a great job painting the interior of our entire house. He even did two accent walls at no extra cost. We needed him to finish quickly because we wanted to get our house on the market as soon as possible. He worked long hours to get the job done in a timely manner.
He did a great job repairing the cracks in the walls and caulking throughout the house using nothing but high quality products. He also repaired some shoddy work that a previous handyman did at no extra charge.
I would highly recommend his services.

We hired Steve Myers to help remodel a front porch in May 2008. Steve comes across as a pleasant, and experienced handyman, but after our dealings with him I would warn any homeowner against hiring him.
As is often the case with home improvement projects, our porch project turned out to be more involved than we had originally planned. When we first met Steve I had concerns about whether person who bills himself as a "handyman" would be up to the job, even when it seemed as if the project would be fairly straight forward. Throughout our dealings with him, even as it became apparent that the project would involve a complete re-do of the porch, Steve repeatedly assured us he felt entirely comfortable with the job. He suggested that his abilities were more along the lines of a contractor, saying that others had encouraged him to get his contractors license, but that he had chosen not to do so because he liked to work on his own, and had not been satisfied with the quality of work of others. I asked Steve whether he was licensed and bonded, and initially he said he was, then said something about "working with someone who is." Stupidly, I did not pursue this any further. Ultimately, Steve demolished our entire covered porch. Two days later he failed to show up for work. Later that day he called and said that he had been "pulling [his] hair out " trying to determine what to do and had decided he had to abandon our project. He cited family issues and "a couple of smaller projects [I have] going" that needed his attention--this after he had torn off the entire front of our house, rendering the front entrance unusable, and exposing the frame of the house to the elements. He recommended a contractor friend of his, whom he said was "even better than me," who never follow up with us, and whom I later found out has a suspended license. Over the next several days we left multiple messages with Steve saying that we needed to meet with him to settle our account, as we had given him approximately $4000. He never called back, but 5 days later came to our house to gather items he had left behind, and also to leave a note on the door indicating that we owed him another $600+. When my husband heard him in the front, he had him come in the house, at which point Steve offered to "waive the rest" of the fee, and even gave us a "gift certificate" for another 8 hours of "free work."
In my husband's (generous) opinion, Steve may in fact have some family issues, and used them as an excuse to abandon a project he realized he was unqualified to complete. In my (less generous) opinion, Steve did nothing less than repeatedly lie about his experience, and then had no qualms about ditching us and his responsibilities when it suited him. I am further appalled by the fact that he even considered leaving us a bill for another $600+, as well as by his conceit that we would ever want to have anything more to do with him, except, perhaps, in the setting of small claims court.
Steve said that his referrals come by word of mouth, many as a result of Judy's Book postings. I hope our experience may help others avoid being duped by this unethical man.

I found Steve through this website; This guy is gifted!
My husband put me in charge of the bathroom remodel that we really
needed to get done this year, as our primary bathroom is just about go
kaput.
Steve went beyond what I expected from a builder - I took note of the fact
that he listened, offered advice when asked, and gave me straight
answers.
In the end, the project went smoothly - more so than I had anticipated.
Steve impressed me so much, that I am going to have him start on our
old bathroom as soon as his time allows. I would reccommend to
anyone who reads this to give Steve a call - you will be better off for it!

I found out about Steve from this website and I’m so glad I did. He is amazing! He helped me completely renovate a house from top to bottom. He did almost everything: drywall, painting, trim work, tiling, door installation, deck repair, fence and retaining wall construction, earth moving, debris removal, lawn care, etc, etc. He went above and beyond duty by working long hours to meet some tight deadlines. I was impressed with his knowledge, skill, and attention to detail. Everything he did looks great and he is very reasonably priced! It was a pleasure to work with him. I would recommend Steve to anyone!

I am very fussy and a bit apprehensive when it comes to hiring someone for my home projects. I contacted Steve to inquire about a patio deck re-build at the suggestion of a friend who had hired Steve for some work.Steve listened to what I wanted to accomplish, then he asked a whole lot of questions. I was impressed with the fact that Steve brought along samples of various materials that could be used for my project, explaining the pros and cons of those materials, and the cost. During the demolition of the current patio, Steve discovered wood rot. After spending a few minutes calming me down, Steve made a number of suggestions about how to solve this new problem, and what the cost. The bottom line: I couldn't be more happy with the results. My new patio deck is very solid.
It's clear to me that Steve not only enjoys what he does but he also takes real pride in his work. I would reccommend Steve to anyone.

Wow! Is it a brand new deck? Last year when my Trex deck was pressure washed, one could hardly tell that it had been cleaned. This week, Steve Myers performed the same service and removed not only the current accumulation of dirt and yucky stuff, but all of the residue that had defeated the other guy last year. Am I pleased? You betcha!
