I have had friends and colleagues stay here. Sweet place in a great location near the Pike Place Market and about 12 blocks from the stadium (20 minute walk).
Another spot you might look into is the Ace Hotel. It is in Belltown.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast in October 2004 for my honeymoon. From our suite, we could look out the large windows and gaze at Elliot Bay. We also had a good view of a corner of Pike Place Market, where we could see merchants early in the morning setting up their stands for the day. Looking straight down out of our windows, we saw The Pink Door, a hard to find restaurant in Seattle that is not to be missed. The suite was spacious, with high ceilings and included a small kitchen and private bath.
The owner was friendly and hospitable and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were held in a large sitting room, and were composed of fresh muffins and rolls, and fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and juice.
When we return to Seattle, we will definitely stay here again!

Awesome, hotel. The rooms and lobby look like they are from the pages of Dwell or I.D. The location in Belltown on First is walking distance to everything from Pike Market to the Space Needle. It is located right above The Cyclops. On top of all that, it is one of the best bargains in Seattle. I stayed there when interviewing for work in Seattle and put my guests up there when they come to visit. Not a place for the kids.

This hostel is located in downtown Seattle, walking distance from ferries. It's a former U.S. immigration station and has a wonderful wood decor. It reminded me of an antique hotel. Close proximity is everything touristy in Seattle - Pike Place Market, Art Museum, Qwest Field, etc.
There are private rooms and dorm-style rooms available. Full kitchen, 24-hour access, programs, etc. are offered here.
Prices are unbeatable. Good or Great rating depending on how well you like this area at night.

This is elegance at its best. I feel pampered just walking into the lobby area. The hotel architecture is appealing and inspiring. The interior designing is comforting yet upscale.
Prices are, of course, high. They actually are reasonable considering what you would expect at aninternationally known elegant facility. They offer everything here.

by ccvisitWalking through the Seattle Marriot Waterfront's lobby, you know you've stepped into an above-average hotel. Located on Alaskan Way, the building itself is U-shape with right angles, so most rooms have some view of Seattle's famed Waterfront. And from what I can see, most upper rooms had a balcony. Open the sliding doors and you can smell and hear the ocean. Also, the famed restaurant called the Fish Club is a nice way to start your culinary adventures in Seattle.
Right next to the hotel is the Seattle International Trade Center where I'm sure a lot of important business is done. There's also a Starbucks inside the Trade Center. Across the street is a place where summer concerts are set up. Also, along Alaskan Way, the Waterfront Trolley trolls along and it's a convenient way for you to get from your hotel to the central part of the Waterfront where you can start your day, but the Trolley does pass through Pioneer Square and ends in the Chinatown Int'l District.

You can usually find a good rate (when was the last time you paid less than $75 for a hotel room in Seattle?) at this hotel. Call their front desk and ask for their very best rate for the night, and you'll be surprised. I've stayed there for business 4 times over the last year, and all have been good. The rooms are big, the high speed internet works, and parking is free.

While this Best Western is not the most luxurious, it's just fine for a cheap hotel. Twice I have called to get a room rate of $65/night - though their hot tub is seemingly always broken. The rooms are large enough, the internet works well, and parking is good. The only downside is that it's tricky to get to if you're traveling from the East part of Seattle (in city), because it's nearly impossible to turn left off Denny.

More
You can usually get a Red Lion hotel room on the 99 stip for a little cheaper than the other hotels. This Red Lion has been recently remodeled, and they have adjoining rooms (a hotel rarity these days!), if you have a party that would like it. If you're traveling to Seattle, consider staying here; great hot tub, good service, and if you go by hwy 518 and 509, you're only 20-30 minutes from downtown - that may sound like a lot, but it's not.
