Flava is a darling tiny shop, with a fun mix of items. From scented soaps to fashionable umbrellas, pretty dishes, jewelry, cards, wrapping paper, seasonal decor, and a few select vintage pieces. You may just find a Russel Wright cream and sugar set, or the perfect vintage kid's lamp. it's always fun to pop in and look around and share a few words with the friendly proprietress.

Flava is small and sweet with a total lack of pretension one might normally associate with a medium-end boutique of this ilk. Perhaps it is because the owner is warm and friendly (without being over-exuberant), but walking into the store is a good way to catch one’s breath while resting one’s eyes on objects of beauty.

Flava is a great place to pick up unusual gifts for women or the home. Intersesting jewelry, chic stationery, chinese slippers, toiletries etc. Ayala Thomas the owner, also my neighbor, has great taste. She also carries Petunia Picklebottom diaper bags. They are pricey but pratical, stylish and very worth it. Stroll down the block to get a latte and cupcake at Verite while you are in the 'hood!
