Sending flowers can be a bit tricky because the florist controls the aesthetic. No matter how specific your direction is (i.e. what flowers to use/not to use), it is ultimately the florist's artistic sensibility that controls, So, it is critical to like/trust the florist's taste. For me, Buckets is the place I trust. Very artistic arrangements -- they use unusual flowers, colors, and combinations (once I saw poppy pods, another time, some funky vegetable looking flower), but they are not so artsy that the arrangements come across smugly. They are always, as I think flowers should be, lovingly selected and cheerful. They are reasonably priced as well -- I can send an arrangement anywhere around town for $40.

I ordered the "White Garden" from the Seattle Flower Lady, the plants were dry and the leaves had brown tips on them when it arrived, and no spathiphyllum flowers at all! This was not at all what I expected based on the image and description on the website. I would never order again.

I was first drawn to Fiori Floral by the interesting miniature palms they have in the window ($45+). These looked very similar to some bonsai palms I saw in Maui earlier this year.
The shop itself is just a desk and predominantly work space. Not much of a showroom. Fiori Flora is not a florist, rather they design floral arrangements for private and corporate events and parties. The on line gallery and catalog display some very creative arrangements.
You can check them out at www.fiorifloradesign.com.

Just got a beautiful bouquet from this shop on Queen Anne. We requested tall with an Eastern theme to match the food at our party. It was gorgeous with orchids and tall bamboo. Perfect.

Matthiesen's Flowers has been a fixture of Columbia City for years- bringing freshness and beauty to a neighborhood that wasn't always such a great place to hang out.
It has perservered quite nicely, and always has beautiful flowers and makes beautiful boutineers and crosages. In addition, they now sell candy, which is the perfect sweet complement to a gift of flowers.
The folks who run the store are wonderful too... friendly and helpful and always ready to help you create the perfect arrangement.

This is a conveniently located (if you live in Fremont) florist that offers a lot of variety and as much help and advice as you’d like. We’ve gotten great bouquets from Hansen’s – some where we picked out all the flowers ourselves and others that were pre-arranged. They always look beautiful and last a long time. They do have a delivery service (I believe), though I’ve never used it. I’m also not sure how Hansen’s rates on the price scale because I have not used many florists in my lifetime. It seems reasonably priced to me.

Wide selection, but very expensive, you can buy same items at other stores and get much better deals. Once you bought an item and if it has some problems you can't get your money back only a store credit and you have only 30days to do it if they will take it back. Once they give you a store credit, the store stills wins since they keep your money and you would buy another overpriced item. Very arrogant customer service people working at that store. Think again and read their return policy before you buy there.

We ordered Flowers for our daughter (first year away from home at college) on Tuesday, to be delivered before noon on Friday (her birthday), paid a lot, and then discovered they weren't delivered. They needed to be delivered before noon because she is only working at that office until one. Very disappointed because we were trying to make her day special.
