Wow. People are very touchy with regard to this restaurant.
The food is decent but I would not say that it is authentic (I have been to the Basque region of Spain a handful of times and I can tell you that Harvest Vine is not particularly authentic -- come on, they have venison on their menu). That being said, the food is okay. We ordered the olives (very good), the cured meats (pretty good), 2 cheeses (lots of goat cheese), the mushrooms (not bad), the pork (not so good) and 2 glasses of wine. Our bill came to over $100 (a bit steep considering the small portion sizes -- even for tapas).
The atmosphere was okay -- it kind of seemed like a place that people go to feel important. Our server was so-so. She delivered all of our plates at once, and considering we were sitting at the counter this just didn't work as there wasn't enough room for them all. Sitting at the counter was nice as you get to see all the food prepared, but it feels like everyone is watching you eat which I don't like.
I don't think I would go back.

The outdoor seating area is beautiful and fun! The food is very tasty, especially the Crostini.
However, the staff is snobby and the portions are very small! Of course, I ordered a half portion, but I didn't think this meant only 3 ravioli!
I would recommend just going for drinks and appetizers, but they won't let you sit outside.
Also, they overcharged me by $100 and it took two weeks to reverse!!! I'd go here if you don't have anywhere else to go...

Yep that's right. Italian food from Asians you ask? Well, why not? And that's the whole story of the restaurant, which is why they called it Perche No, which means "why not?". The food here was ok. I don't think I'll go back. The atmosphere was also ok and it smelled kind of gross inside. However, the restaurant was packed, which makes you think it has to be good, so maybe I just chose the wrong menu item? It is just about impossible to get dinner here without reservations on the night of a Sonics game since it is within walking distance to the Key Arena. I was there on such a night, but we had reservations. The service was really quick, almost too quick really, making you feel like they wanted you out of there. We had wine, apps, entrees, and dessert in 1 hour and 5 minutes. There were also a lot of rowdy diners pre-game (painting letters on their stomachs etc.). This would be a good place to go with a group. There is a lot of rabbit on the menu which struck me as kind of odd also. Finally, they have a live piano player, which was probably the best thing about the restaurant. Overall, not highly recommended by me.

More
My wife, my two sons and I went to this restaurant a few months ago -since we had received a $100 coupon through Comcast- and expected to see at least one true French speaking individual in this so-called "French Restaurant"...to no avail. No, the owner isn't French, the waiter/waitress isn't French, the hostess isn't French and there's no French chef. However, since I'm fairly easy going, I would let all of this non-Frenchness go if it weren't for the food, which wasn't true French either. Now, I have lived in France for over 7 years and kind of have an idea of what true French food ought to be like...whether the "nouvelle cuisine" or other! Unfortunately, the service was horrible too!
To make this story short, it really bugs me when a restaurant tries to be something that it isn't - and then capitalize on it! For example, I have never been in a Chinese restaurant where the owner and cook are not Chinese or of Chinese descent! I don't want to seem pretentious but when I go to a French, Italian, Chinese et al. restaurant, I am paying for an "experience." Otherwise, I might as well go to "Red Robbin" and eat good American food. But restaurant owners shouldn't try to portrait an experience on their clients that they are unable to and then charge them twice the price for that lie. That's dishonest and unethical!

Salvatore's is the kind of Italian restaurant that transports you back to that wonderful land of Italy. To begin with the environment is made with bricks, or made to look like bricks, the kind of bricks you might have seen in Sienna or Assisi. Their is a map of Italy made out of corks, and lovely photos of people and places from all over Italy. The lovely efficient waiter's thick Italian accent is wonderful. His knowledge of the region's wines, his presentation of the menu and evenings specials, make you wish he could just sit down and talk all night! Finally there is the magnificent food! All tasty, beautifully prepared, presented and shared to everyone's satisfaction. Do yourself a favor and transport yourself to Italy by making a special evening out at Salvatore's.

Seattle is pretty short on fine French Bakeries, and even though Le Panier has an awful location it is well worth going to for some of the best pastry in town. I know that going down to Pike's Place Market if you don't live in downtown is a hastle, but after polishing of a Pain Raisin and a cup of espresso you should be pretty happy. Don't forget to pick up a baguette on your way out the door, it will make for an excellent sandwich that will leave you begging for more.

What a great date place! This Italian restaurant recently (2005/2006) expanded from its mini size, but is still small enough to feel intimate, especially with its tasteful décor, styled after an Italian courtyard. The owner also makes you feel right at home. About 2/3-way through dinnertime, he replaced the opera singer on the little stage in the middle of the place and gave an animated and entertaining speech about the development of the restaurant, upcoming events, etc., making everyone feel like part of the Pontevecchio family (not sure if this is a nightly event, but likely frequent enough). His staff provided a great service, and the food was excellent, especially the mushroom ravioli. It wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t out of proportion with the level of service, food quality, and entertainment. Ah, the entertainment: they bring in members of the Seattle opera to perform classical arias. The lady that sang on our night there was fabulous, accompanied by a pianist. Note that this is really a date place rather than anything else. Most customers were couples, and 4 is probably the max they could seat around a table. It is possible that they can arrange for a group if you call them in advance, but it would probably be a bad place to bring a large loud group, or kids for that matter. But they do have “Bolero happy hours” when they bring in flamenco dancers and it sounds like the place gets a little more rowdy. Probably worth exploring.
