You know -- sometimes bad food is good for you. And such it is at Red Robin. Here's the special thing about Red Robin -- it's my 3 and 6 year old children's favorite restaurant in seattle. Why? Primarliy because the restuarant gives away balloons, hires a cartoon character that looks like a red robin, and has cheesy macaroni and cheese PLUS hot fudge vanilla sundaes.
So it's enough that my kids love it -- but the secret is that I like it too. They have good greasy burgers, fatty french fries and onion rings, and beer. What's there not to like?

you'll never be surprised at jalisco's - the food is always what you'd expect from the chains. good chips and really good salsa. fast service, good bar drinks. and decent food but nothing to write home about.
jalisco's has good guac, i'll give them that. and your food will be on your table within minutes, even on a busy night. this is a great place to go if you have diners who are both meat eaters and vegetarians, spicy and non-spicy, hungry, and don't want to spend a fortune. PERFECT place to go before you hit any game at key arena, except they'll be crowded.

I have a warm spot for this Red Robin. It was the very first in the chain and has a spectacular view of Portage Bay. The parking is beyond hard, but give it a try. Most of the the other Red Robins are just GOOD, but the location makes it GREAT to me.
The food is only OK, but the view is terrific. The best things to try are their Mac N Cheese (I know that's a kids item). Connie usually eats their caesar salad which is just OK.
That plus the bottomless french fries. When I go there, I like to get their french onion soup and french fries. Don't ask me why.

Ok, Jalisco's is nothing fancy, but they do one thing really well. If you need food in 10 minutes, they deliver. It is hot and good. The kids just love the cheese enchiladas.
We've been going there for years and years and the grownups really like the tacos el carbon and the enchilada jaliscos.
So if you are up on Capital Hill and want something warm on a cold rainy night, check it out!

If you are looking for a casual Mexican spot that's fast and friendly, Jalisco's is your place. They are a local chain with a number of spots around the city. They serve solid basic Mexican fair. The staff is great with kids and the place was half filled with them the night we were there.
My wife is a longtime fan of their chorizo and eggs.

We stopped by Red Robin after the final tug boat race down in Seattle this weekend and caught a bite to eat. There were 12 of us, so we thought it would be difficult to get a table. After about a 40 minute wait, we were seated. Considering it was the Red Robin on the pier, on a Saturday, we figured that was pretty good. The waiter was friendly and helpful. They had some new and interesting dishes on their menu. One was called a Chickadilla or something close to that. It was GOOOOOOD! Stop by and give them a try!
