Following a facial at Head to Toe in West Seattle, a number of black, mole-like spots appeared on my cheeks. The technician was not sure what they were, or if or when they might disappear. The spa owner said there was nothing she could do, and when I pleaded for her help in identifying and treating the spots, she turned her back on me and asked me to leave the premises, In a subsequent email, she told me that I should have consulted a dermatologist before having a facial!!! She recommended I see a dermatologist, but when I asked if she was willing to take care of the fee, she did not respond. Nearly two months later, I still have the black spots and am under the care of a doctor at my own expense. After I informed the owner that I was considering sharing my story with the public, she wrote, "I have consulted with my company attorney regarding your threats...I will not sit idly by and let you slander or liable (sic) me or my business.",
I don't know if Head to Toe (or any other spa) routinely recommends that potential clients consult with dermatologists before having facials, but considering the potential consequences, that might not be a bad idea.

I recently went to Head to Toe and had a great experience. Betty was wonderful! I really enjoyed the facial I received, it was even better than some of the facials I have gotten in one of the downtown spas. The ambiance was nice and quiet, very relaxing to this "stay at home mom's" frazzled mind.

I highly recommend this little gem, located on California Street in West Seattle. Betty Toureville is one of my favorite estheticians, she is very kind and intelligent. She takes the time to educate and pamper you! I have also had a massage, nail services and a steam treatment. Although the business is small and it is on a busy street, I have never felt rushed or anything other than relaxed. They have a great staff who seem to prize customer service. Definitely give them a try.
