Discovery Park is located in Magnolia, and is considered the largest city park in Seattle. It stand where the old Fort Lawton used to be. This park is surrounded by beautiful views of the Puget Sound, mountain views, streams, forests, and sea cliffs. It is a great place to go to relax and find some peace and relaxation for it is very quiet over there. They have tennis courts, picnic tables, childrens playground, trails, and paths. Also a good spot to bring your kids to or your dog for a walk.

We went to The Woodland Park Zoo as part of a Citypass package when we were in Seattle last October. The zoo is in a residential and busy area of Seattle and has lots of traffic around it. When you get to the zoo, you have to pay to park, but I guess thats normal in Seattle. The zoo is a good size and you can get kinda lost in it. The animals that we saw were normal zoo animals and my son loved them all. One of my favorites was the Red Panda. It was so cute and small. I probably took about 15 pictures of this. We also loved the Jaguar. It was behind this big glass thing and would come right next to the window. I cant believe how big and how totally beautiful these animals are. We went to the concession stand to get food and the prices were totally outrageous. The food also was not very good. The area you ate in wasn't very clean and that whole experience kinda grossed me out. Overall, we enjoyed the park but were a little disappointed, We had heard this was an amazing zoo and I guess it was kinda a let down. I am glad that we went thoe:)

Well, it's sort of famous. If you have even been to Space Needle, you must have see this "thing". Yes, the red, silver and brown thing looks like a big pile of tin foil. It is the brainchild of Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen and designed by architect Frank Gehry. Originally planned as a memorial to Seattle native guitar super rock star Jimi Hendrix, the museum has become a celebration of the NW rock scene and the general history of American popular music. Although it is probably fun for someone really really loves rock music, I just don't think it's on top of my list to spend $20.

For some reason, it seems most visitors to Seattle really want to go to the Space Needle. I get the impression most of them think the views will be spectacular and the swanky resturant on top will match.
Sorry folks, but that isn't true. Yeah, the views aren't bad - but you can get equally pretty views from Queen Anne, along most of Seattle's waterfront parks, or other places. As for the food, I've heard it's changed management and gotten better, but the last few times I was there, most large food chains gave it a good run for its money and it was absurdly overpriced.

I know many people will probably not agree with me but I was not impressed at all with the Seattle Aquarium. We went there with the Citypass and were so happy that we didn't pay the full price for it. We got there at 4pm, which was 1 hour before they closed and we were in and out in no time. I think the best thing about the place was the gift shop. They do have a lot of fish so if thats interesting to you, you'll be happy. So my advice is if it's included with the Citypass, it doesn't hurt to look. If you have to pay full price. Skip it.

What a cool place to check out.... if you take out a loan. The EMP is not someplace to go if you have a large family, unless you can to afford $20.00 per adult and $16.00 for kids 7 and up. Excuse me, $19.95 for adults and $15.95 for kids. If you want to see the Science Fiction Museum as well, that will cost you $26.95 per adult and $19.95 children. I think I rather drive down to Anaheim and go to Disneyland. How about if you get a 50% discount if you live in WA.

Many, many people referred me to the Underground Tour in Seattle. They said it was cool to see the foundation Seattle was built upon.
They were, however, very wrong. The tour was meant to be campy, however our guide knew very little. Not only that the tour sights were pretty lame. It consists of walking around a few basements, seeing where old sidewalks were and generally spending time in dark and dank areas.
Skip this one, it's boring and pointless!

One of the unique things you can see while in Seattle is the Boeing Tour. Boeing will let you in to take a tour of their assembly plant, where you can see various planes -- 757, 777, 767, and maybe some others, getting worked on.
It may sound like something geeky, but seeing the huge planes up close, in pieces, and being worked on is amazing. You also learn some great trivia about how these wonderful machines are put together.
I've told friends that this tour is required if they come visit -- it's one of my favorite tours and definately worth the price.

Gameworks is freakin expensive for the games. WAY too much. However it is located in the middle of downtown and offers a great selection of video games. Also a good happy hour menu. The way to save money is to get an hour play card. Otherwise it's not worth it. The staff are somewhat unfriendly at times. Seems like they deal with a lot of annoying people.

More
While their exhibits have usually been really good, the exhibit I saw about "extreme weather" left much to be desired. Besides, I was there on a weekday and the Center closed nearly two hours early to accommodate a private party. Of course, they didn't tell me that when I paid for my ticket, and the staff wasn't exactly nice when they started setting up an event around us.
