If you want one of the best tile jobs in Seattle or environs and have some money to throw down--or should I say "invest"--then hire Marty Klukas of M.K. Tile. He knows what he is doing, can do very complicated work and gets the job done on time. He is perhaps a little more contractor friendly--meaning he does steady work for a limited group of contractors--than homeowner friendly, so you might want or need to suggest his name to your contractor or architect. Although you pay for his expertise and care, you will shower better knowing that you paid to do it right the first time.

Pabla is a great vegetarian oasis in a sea of strip malls! It's located across from the big Fred Meyer in Renton and serves an entirely veggie menu. It's a branch of the Pabla located in downtown Seattle. Their buffet lunch is awesome and always includes yummy desserts for your sweet tooth. If you are going for dinner, the food is high quality and the servings are large. There is also an Indian grocery store convieniently located right next door.

Jimmy Mac's is one of our favorite south end places to eat. It's got kind of an urban cowboy look and feel and if you are foolish enough to let them know it's your birthday; they'll sing some insulting song (where they compare you to a pig) in your honor. Not sure I get the whole peanut shells on the floor thing; except that seems to be a common feature in some country bars. Fun place to take the family or a date if you’re not counting on quiet intimacy

I like Dr. Espahbod as my dentist, but I have to say everytime I go in there I see a new face, and that is not very comforting to me. I think if staff is not staying around there is something going on behind close doors! Every time I go in there I also have to wait at least 30 mins before someone brings me back which is frustrating because there office paper I signed states if you don't give them notice before you cancel they charge you! Anyways I guess I have been a little disappointed the last few times!

I met Joshie while completely gutting, remodeling and adding a 2nd floor to our home in Seattle. He was a sub-contractor to the company we hired to manage all the detailed moulding finish installation. He quickly became our lead guy that proved to be more resourceful and knowledgeable than the owners of the firm we hired.
I have never met a guy who loves his craft more, and it shows. We had him install very ornate mouldings throughout the house including detailed hand crafted waines coatings mouldings throughout the living room and up the formal stair. His work was tremendous and his insight as to the type of mouldings that would best work in the room was very helpful. If you can show him a photo of what you want, he can make it happen.
Since the completion of our home, we have hired him for additional odd jobs including building a beautiful side gate, fixing a poorly installed wood window, correcting a leaky door jam, installing a retractable attic door and finishing the attic floor for storage and painting a detailed exterior appliqué.
Key Capabilities:
Finish carpentry - mouldings
Kitchen and Bathroom remodeling
Trellis design and installation
Fence design and installation
Fireplace mantel design and installation
Painting - interior and exterior
Joshie works by the hour or by bid, whichever you choose. He is happy to come to your home to review the job and provide you with educated feedback and an estimate for the job.

I am going to be as honest as my memory can serve me in order to give parents the opportunity to hear from a former student.
I am currently a college freshman and I attended to St. Anthony's School from K-8th grade. I really hope the school has changed since then because for the most part it was one of the worst experiences of my life that really stunted my academic growth and social well being. For one, do NOT send your kid to this school unless you are prepared for them to be indoctrinated with all the most conservative sides of Catholicism. If you are not a catholic or are a moderate Christian, I would at least supplement your child with some sort of outside moral support or religious exposure if you so choose. When I was there it was basically a pre-Vatican environment and very exclusive to non-conservatives. Free thought and questioning the religion was extremely looked down upon. Questions about sexuality that are perfectly normal and typical for any Junior High student were never addressed. We were left to look to MTV for our information, because face it, your kids are not going to feel comfortable asking you those kind of questions.
In retrospect, I was lucky to have parents who gave me a lot of self-confidence support because the school environment constantly made me stressed and generally irritated. I heard that there was a massive faculty reform in recent years, and hopefully they got rid of that principle Teale because that guy was the biggest moron I have ever met. The school environment was sexist (girls were always favored) and incredibly severe with punishments. I remember I had to clean the cafeteria for 3 weeks because I said the word "crap" in 5th grade.
The grades I received in class were highly political, and "brown nosing" was the only real secure way to get A's. Academically, it was hit or miss from grade to grade. I generally did well but most of my peers did very poorly in classes and most couldn't read at their level.
This is just one student's experience at the school, but hopefully I can give my 5 cents with the hope that parents can be warned about what they are getting their kids into. I understand that it has been years since I was there, hopefully things have changed. The school is not as amazing as they say it is. Ask any alumni who graduated between 1999-2004.
Hopefully you can save some money by marking yourself as catholic on the tuition slip because you are going to need it for private tutors
