This is a smaller and older store than many other locations. The parking lot is huge and easily accessible off of Bethel. The store is easy to maneuver in and is the typical WalMart fare.
The associates have been helpful each time I've needed them. They know the layout of the store and can steer you in the right direction easily. That's nice.

Located inside South Kitsap Mall. What a welcome relief to buy shoes from a locally owned business. And, from someone who knows his business and the shoe industry. When I entered this store, I was treated like I was the most important person around. I had my shoes specially fitted. Both the owner and assistant were genuinely concerned about helping me succeed in enjoying my shoes.
I wish all shoe stores were like this one. Plus, I know the owner to be involved in the local community.
The atmosphere is very comfortable, there's a wide variety of shoes to choose from, and the experience was all-around very enjoyable.
The high quality shoes are well worth the price. This isn't your $20 shoe store, however.

Arm chair books is as comfy as it sounds... It is a wonderful book store that offers a large variety of books for all audiences. They also bring in local authors for book signings and readings. The events a really popular and often bring a good size crowd. The stores staff is very friendly and helpful. I am seldom disappointed with their selection and really like shopping at a local store versus the big chain book stores.

I heard negative comments from various people about DJ's when they closed their Silverdale store. I know, however, that employees in their Port Orchard store have helped me out numerous times. Their in-store assortment of sheet music could use some improvement, but they will special order for you. That's nice. Plus, their prices are good.
The staff seem knowledgeable about music and instruments and enjoy conversing about it with customers.
The interior is well lit, clean, and seems to make the most out of the small space they have.

Once a month at the big red barn, Stokes auctions off about one hundred cars a few boats. There is also a barn devoted to furniture and a miscellaneous junk room where you bid on an entire square of flooring and winner takes all. I have never actually won anything at the auction but have attended several times just to watch the entire process. I have also talked to many people who go to the auction every month. It is a neat place to take the kids and let them see how an auction really is and how fast that auctioneer can talk.

I like the outside, a blue Victorian era replica building. It is hard to miss from the street, for sure.

Here is another old locally-owned business going to the wayside. It is being torn down. There is always such a nice variety of animal care products here, it's fun to just go in and check it out. The staff are always helpful, friendly, and enjoy chatting about both the industry and area. I like the exterior red barn look, myself.
Go in and purchase, say "hi", before it is gone to the store in the sky.
