I’d like to warn anyone thinking about signing a contract with this company to please read the back of the contract carefully. It is a SELF-RENEWING contract, and if you don’t cancel within the allotted time, and if you don’t tell them in the correct method they will not let you out of the contract and send you to collections.
My grandson was taking lessons from RTKD, and lost interest so my ex-daughter-in-law didn’t take him to lessons any longer. The last time he went to lessons was Sept. 2006 when my son was home for a couple weeks. A couple months prior to Sept. my son signed a contract renewing lessons to begin in Feb. 2007. My son paid for lessons every month which was taken out automatically/electronically by RTKD, the last payment being withdrawn on Dec. 22, 2006. After finding out my grandson wasn’t going to lessons my son’s ex indicated to him that she had cancelled the contract. In January his bank card was stolen and RTKD couldn’t automatically withdraw payment as they had done every month prior – for lessons my grandson wasn’t going to I might add. So on February 22, 2007 RTKD emailed my son for payment and said he was 90 days delinquent – which was a total lie since they took the previous payment on 12/22/2007. My son emailed him back the same day informing him that his bank card had been stolen, and he had been told his ex had cancelled the contract, and as of that day to please cancel the contract(s). The contract he signed the previous summer was to be cancelled at that time also, and fell well within the 30 days notice required. He had to do this by email as he was working in New Orleans - not even in the area. Master Richard emailed him back and made it sound as if he were a bad father by not making sure his son made it to lessons any longer. My son emailed him back and reiterated that he was cancelling the contract(s) as of that day and the previous cancellation on 2/22/2007.
On the back of the contract “5d”. it states “Buyer may cancel this membership at any time by paying 30% of the remaining balance on the agreement”. Since the contract starting in February was for $774 and nothing had been paid, my son had me take his check for $129 to RTKD and RTKD took $129.00 out of his account electronically. That is $258 which is over the 30%, that and being told twice to cancel the contract my son thought that would be the end of it. My son also put a stop payment on his account if RTKD tried to take anymore money out of his account electronically – and they did try to. RTKD then sent my son to collections for $516 – the balance of the contract which began in Feb. 2007. My son contacted the collection agency explaining all this and sent documentation as backup – the collection agency didn’t cancel the collection. My son contacted the BBB and sent them the backup information verifying everything. RTKD told the BBB that they never got the email canceling the contract because they changed emails. Odd since they responded to my son from that email account, and RTKD also told the BBB that my sons account had gone into default three times which was another lie. RTKD also told the BBB that the comment about being able to cancel a contract and paying 30% is only for clients “in good standing”. There is NOTHING about that on the contract anywhere, and my son was in good standing as he had paid over 30% of the contract, however, RTKD said he should have called to find out what 30% was. It’s pretty easy to figure out 30% of $774 so why was a call necessary.
Please be careful if you’re considering joining RTKD.

I just got back from taking three of my daughters to Cousins Hair Design in Mountlake Terrace and WOW! They all look like rock stars! My oldest likes things funky so rich, glossy black with pink highlights reigned supreme. My middle daughter wanted to lighten up and look gorgeous so she had some highlights put in and layers added that really provided a lot of good movement to her style. She couldn't quit looking in the mirror! My next younger daughter would only say that she wanted 'v's' cut into her hair and bangs >.< That's a little hard to interpret but Liz did a great job and made her look amazing.
I would highly recommend Liz but from what I could see from the other stylists, I think they would all be a good bet.
Liz rocks, Cousins rocks and conveniently located between Everett and Seattle, definitely check them out!
