I love Cost Plus and could spend day in here, happily. There is enough gourmet food, wine and comfy furniture to keep me happy for a very long time! They have an extensive wine selection and their gourmet food and tea selection is very compete and such fun to browse through. They have things you can't find elsewhere - like European chocolate and tea from India. They also have great, simple wooden toys - I come here every year for stocking stuffers.

My husband I went into the Alderwood store to hope and furnish basically our entire house and when we came into the store we were greeted by a friendly face. So far, so good. We asked if we could just look around for now and began to browse for ideas. Not too long after going through only a third of the store, a saleslady came over and 'greeted us'. She gave us the once over and then cooly asked if we needed any help. We both smiled and said 'no, not at the moment' and then she had enough nerve to say 'okay, well I just thought I should let you know that the discount area is over there'! I, honestly, have never been so disrespected in my life! Neither my husband nor I thought that we would have to 'dress up' to go furniture shopping; and we shouldn't have! Just because we didn't drive up in a Lincoln Navigator doesn't mean we didn't have money to spend. I tried to brush off her comment and continued to look through the store until she approached us again to 'see how we were doing' (which we really were in the discount section then). I commented that we were having some trouble because I had to furnish an entire house and didn't know where to start. She asked me what budget I was working with in a snobby tone and I was so mad at this point that I decided to 'let her have it' without fully letting her know. I explained the truth, that I had about $40,000 I was planning on using, and watched her eyes sort of twitch with the news. After that, her attitude totally changed and we were suddenly 'worth' her time. Maybe she should have just treated us with unknowing respect from the beginning and I would have purchased the whole home from her but she didn't and so my husband and I decided to go to Pottery Barn and do it all through them. BUT, I will say that it is completely possible that I just got a rude salesperson because their furniture really is of good quality and they do have some very nice, albeit sometimes gaudy, designs. Hopefully, nobody else has to deal with my lady, though!

If you like good service, I would take my car to the people at Lynnwood Honda ( http://www.lynnwoodhonda.com ). Their prices were comparable to other Honda dealers in town. The staff is very proffessional. They are located on the corner of 220th and 99.

I kind of gave Pier 1 a bad rap in my review of Cost Plus Imports, but it's really not all that bad. (I do prefer Cost Plus.) The prices can be high at Pier 1, but they do have sales so look for those. This is a great place for candles and throw pillows - and I love their fancy wine glasses. You can find some really fun stemware and dishes here, not to mention furniture.

I was in the market for a recliner, and my first thought was to go to La-z-boy and see what they had in stock. I went to the Issaquah one, and was horrified both by the ugly chairs (overall) and the salesperson who was more interested in having me buy the most expensive chair then help me find the right one.
I went home dejected thinking I would need to do some more research, then we remembered reclinerland in Lynnwood. We went out there, and it was clear that they were definitely a recliner powerhouse. They had a few couches and love seats, but mostly recliners. The salesperson took time to figure out what worked best for me and wasn't trying to pressure me into anything (except the cleaning stuff at the end). I felt comfortable with the process and the chair I found there, so I purchased it and have been very happy.
