St. Edward State Park has to be one of the most beautiful parks along Lake Washington. It is located at the north end, near Kenmore. Watch carefully for the signs, or you will drive right past it.
It is a day park only, there are no camp sites available. You must pay $5 parking (be sure to pay it, they will leave a ticket if not). for each visit unless you have a state parks parking permit. They open at 8a.m. until dusk each day.
The park has several picnic tables scattered throughout the area. There are several large areas to fly kits, play Frisbee or ball without worrying about running into another group. The area also has several paths for walking/hiking that aren't too rough.
You can access the waterfront through trails, but not cars.
An on site indoor swimming pool is also available, although the public swim times vary.
Best of all is the huge playground for kids- it has a tot area for the little ones, plus plenty of rock walls, climbing structures, slides and areas to play for the older kids. It is enclosed in somewhat, so you don't have to worry about the little ones wandering off.

I would say i prefer bowling alleys without the card rooms.. But maybe have card rooms will drive the price of the bowling down since its not the main forte..Its a smoking establishment, so i wouldn't say its exactly family oriented.. They have a lot of lanes, tho the place is a bit older. Price is pretty fair, but they dont seem to have too many 'special deal nights' like other bowling alleys.. dont know if they have cosmic bowling or not.. The card rooms 'can' bring in a shadey enviroment so i'd say leave the kids at home.. But not a bad bowling alley espically since its open 24/7!

St Edward's is fantastic. From the trails that deceive you into thinking you're out on a mountain, to the amazing and huge playground, to the serenity of the old seminary and the grounds and the grotto... this park is just fantastic. On the weekends you're greeted by the sounds of kids playing baseball, families riding their bikes on the trails, people walking their dogs, and adults playing basketball in the old gym. And when you want to mix it up a bit, just walk on the trails over to Bastyr and walk on their reflexology footpath, look at the plants in their herb garden, soak up the good energy.

I visited kenmore lanes last week, and it was ok. They had pretty good special pricing on bowling after 12 I believe. The casino is not so impressive, too much smog and very small and packed. It was rather uncomfortable with tables so tightly positioned. Not the best feeling atmosphere. The building itself is quite aged, and some remodelling should happen.
