China Dynasty fills up fast on Friday and Saturday nights, and I simply don't understand why. Their decor is something straight out of a Brady Bunch set, and their menu is tired, unimaginative and offers only competent food. This is standard fare Chinese-American food, which really means it's just not good at all. Nothing tastes fresh; even the egg rolls leave a slick feeling in yourmouth that comes from being worked in old tired stale Fryolator Oil. Yuck. But still, the people of Cranston sure seem to love old oil, tired eggrolls and the Pu-Pu Platter that comes with the requisite '80 flaming center. Be prepared - if you're a fairly healthy eater - to come out of there in dire need of a carrot smoothie to chase the greasy-queasies away.

Dr. Mega is a fabulous dentist, and I don't say that lightly. I HATE going to the Dentist, I avoid it at all costs, but it can't be helped - teeth need attention or they fall out and don't come back. Dr. Mega is always willing to take on emergencies, and unlike so many other unscrupulous Dentists in the area, she never overcharges or claims you have more issues than really exist. She's also quite gentle when it comes to exams and repairs, and if your problem is more serious than she can handle, she'll refer you to a reputable surgeon to fix you up. She takes care of just about everyone I know and I haven't heard a single bad thing about her.

The Michael K Galvin Salon & Day Spa was recommended to me by a friend. I'm so glad I went there! I had an eyebrow wax and a facial. It was heaven! Yelena (the person I had the appointment with) was wonderful. She did a great job on the eyebrow shaping and truly made the facial 100% relaxing. I felt great when I walked out of there! I'll definitely be going back again.

Nino's has been around for many years serving the same great pizza. The owners have changed but the recipe has not. The pizza is a thin crust (thick crust available) with a great sauce and unique blend of cheeses. Take out service and delivery available. The restaurant is not the most visually appealing and the inside service is somewhat slow but it's easy to overlook when you eat the pizza. The restaurant also offers pasta, sandwiches and calzones but the pizza is the star.

Twin Oaks has long been known for their fresh Italian food. They have many specials during the week and the food is pretty good. The prices are reasonable. One of the lunch menu ideas is meatballs in a heel. This is about half a loaf of Italian bread, scooped out, and then filled with meatballs. Twin Oaks also has American fare but Italian is what they excel in. Desserts are also tasty and fresh.
