We recently visited the Regal Bowie Cinema to see the latest Batman movie (Batman Begins) and had a very pleasant experience. Although we were running tight on time, the line moved relatively quickly with a three salespersons. There are many theaters/movies to choose from within the cinema building.
The theaters themselves have stadium seating which is wonderful! No more trying to look over the guy in front of you just to see the screen.
They also accept gift certificates, even the ones from Kellogg's cereal (which we used).
Altogether, a good place to see a movie.

Belcroft Bible Church is one of the most comfortable Christian churches you'll ever visit. I've lived in many places and regularly attended over a dozen churches across the U.S., but this one really stands out. It has good leadership from its pastor who is also a professor at Washington Bible College, as well as from its Board of Elders who emphasize being a part of the workings and not just sitting in a pew every Sunday.
Church size is approx. 250 persons.
There are programs for everyone from newborn to senior. New moms often gather in the nursery on Sunday mornings where they exchange stories and support each other. There is a nursing screen and glider in the nursery, but it's rarely used because of the number of moms who just take over the nursery.
Children have programs like Awana and Vacation Bible School.
Adults are encouraged to join small groups that meet during the week as well as Sunday School that meets at various locations on Sunday mornings.
Everyone is made welcome, from suits and ties to cut-off jeans and tattoos. And most important of all, the family of believers worships together and focuses on how to become better followers of Jesus Christ as led by his teachings in the Bible.
Truly an awesome place to seek God.

We found out about Drs. Brinster and Kimmel from friends of ours and have used them since we moved to the area. The office is child-friendly: I always have both kids with me and they sit by my side either in their stroller or on the chairs while I have my teeth cleaned. The receptionists and dental staff are very friendly toward children; they give the kids balloons and let them press the buttons for the water and spittoon/sink.
We have also talked with their orthodontic staff and received intelligent answers to questions with low-pressure ideas on how to fix our teeth.
It's a good group to visit.

Patuxent Nursery occasionally has really good deals on some plants. In the spring, they have a great deal on impatiens and other summer flowering plants - I think it was $1.25 for a pack of 6 small plants. This can make things confusing later, though. I went back a couple months later and thought I found another great deal - 18 plants for only a couple of dollars. I was wrong. Read the fine print on the signs before buying. I ended up returning to the shelves a whole tray of beautiful plants.
They also have a good variety of stones and pavers for landscaping.

The Bowie Baysox is the local minor-league baseball team. They are very family-friendly with entertainment for all ages. For the younger fans, there is a moon-bounce, carousel and various games. For the older fans, there are good seats to watch baseball. The players are also fun to watch since they are more interested in playing baseball without the motivation of huge paychecks. The team mascot is also very friendly and usually makes his way around the entire stadium so all fans have a chance to say "hi" and have a picture taken.
Tickets are very reasonably priced. Some nights are as little as $1 per person, with children under age 5 for free. In the play areas, children younger than 3 can play and ride the carousel for free. Older kids buy tickets for $1 per ride/game.

You can get a little more up close and personal with the players, which is always fun. So get ready for some good food and a good time. On the Border has become my favorite place to eat out. The food is fabulous, and the service is great too. I highly recommend the Chicken fajitas and Shirley temple. It comes with enough meat to share, and still have extra to bring home as leftovers. Or if you would like, you can order extra meat (tons of extra meat) for a decent price.

Bed Bath and Beyond in Bowie is a wonderful store. The employees are friendly and helpful. I love how they take competitors coupons and their own expired coupons. The only problem with this store is that it is a little dirty, especially the bathrooms. Overall it is great.
